Kilkenny Gaelic Football Thread

Fair Callan CBS influence on that team. We had won a Leinster D or E that year didn’t we, beating some scobes from Tallaght.

Fuck football.

Miney was a good footballer from what I heard. Jacko could turn his hand to anything

Miney was very good, Jacko was class.

3 Lockes men plus 2 more to make 5 off the CBS, yeah.
I dunno about D or E but I was on the Junior team that won South Leinster C in 93.
I think we were the first Callan cbs team to win anything at football.
We bet Heywood in the South final in Nowlan Park. Rathangan done us in the Leinster semi proper then.

What is it with you South East weirdos. It is beat not bet

We had a good team in 90/91 when Br Damien first came to the school. Won a couple of matches at that C grade. Bet a team from Laois along the way.

It’s an irregular verb, never changes

Aimsir Chaite

I bate you

Aimsir Láithreach

I’ve you bate

Aimsir Fháistineach

I’ll bate you

Modh Coinníollach

If I catch you I’ll bate you

You need to add “backwards” to each of those.

Tommy Walsh (not Welsh) on Off the Ball

Like Joe…i remember xx year Joe and we went back to Cork and bet them, then we went down to Thurles and bet Tipp too Joe and the next week Joe …
we went up to Wexford Park and bet them too Joe

Fuck off Tommy

Not bad, if you saw Wicklow or Carlow, Laois or Longford in place of Kilkenny you wouldn’t bat an eyelid

Kilkenny minor football manager DJ Carey is on Off The Ball now.

What a guy.

Yerra Woolly had him on the GAA hour already today.

DJ loves the oul attention

He’s very humble about all the does for Kilkenny football.

Will Callan hold the crowds?

Hopefully. A serious coup for the Lockes.
The high praise the setup got after the cark v doobla senior challenge game a few weeks ago seems to have cemented Callan’s place as the historic home of football in Kilkenny, if not the entire island and by extension, world.

First football games under modern rules, of course Callan is the spiritual home of football here in Ireland and by extension, the world.

@Mac, go shit in your hat
