Yes and that was one of our many problems.
It was men against boys in the battle of our forwards against their backs. Murphy and Walsh loarded it on the air against taller but lighter players.
We have no game plan only to hit it in high to kids who haven’t filled out yet and too light to win position on the ground before you can win in the air.
Our backs were good to a point. However they were up against 5 Kilkenny forwards as they left Hannon free all night and he stayed back to protect the full back line.
Gutted that the cats were there for the taking but we were not good enough to finish them off.
Oh and Brian Gavin is a Kilkenny loving cunt.

Poor Harry is making some very very odd statements about this game. I don’t any of us think that he actually saw the game.
Limerick were far improved last night when compared to the Clare game. Some very good young hurlers on that team.
With added focus on their finishing they will be there or thereabouts very soon.
Their all Ireland u21 winning manager has said this is a 3 year process so let’s give them time.

It’s accepted by pretty much everyone that Limerick have an emerging crop of very good young players who still need to fill out physically. So it’s an indictment on Kiely and Kinnerk that they didn’t implement a tailored style of play and a structure to acknowledge this. What’s the point of fannying around with sideways handpasses in your own half back line before launching sky scrapers forward to Peter Casey?
What were they at in training since last winter? It could come good in year 2 but it’s not guaranteed by any means. Does Kinnerk have any influence on tactics? What’s Kiely’s preferred style anyway? Are they working on a suitable plan but do the players revert to type in the heat of battle?
The lauding of them in some quarters for a brave display yesterday is ridiculous.
