Enquiring about the time left, yes. They asked the, 4th official. It happened in front of me mate
You think you do, but you don’t I thought you were stylishly dressed but may I suggest a Limerick polo shirt instead of a jersey for next year mate
Will you give over. You telling me that Kiely hasn’t the brain to keep an eye on time himself. Time was well over & you are telling me the Teacher had to ask the 4th official?
You’ve clearly never been on the line in throes of a proper championship game mate. It is perfectly normal for players and management to enquire about time left/is this the last play etc etc
Dowling was roaring like a demented ass trying to get an answer. Shocking time keeping from management.
Dowling was enquiring about the remaining time, mate.
What was the 4th Officials name? Was it John as well?
Watch it back.
What has the 4th official got to do with it? As I’ve said, Dowling was merely asking how long was left.
As I said before, it’s a pity you’re such a right fucking idiot sometimes.
You’ve missed my point spectacularly but carry on.
Sometimes? [quote=“glasagusban, post:1237, topic:24396, full:true”]

You’ve woken up, fair play to you.
About time you did yourself mate.
Since I won’t get to do this for another 8 months or so, a player-by-player review.
Quaid- Looked a lot more assured than against Clare. Puck-outs were improved, still a couple of bad ones. The stop from Bolger was a good one and he was safe under the high ball. Biggest mistake was conceding a free for over-carrying. Although if it had happened at the other end, Gavin would have given a free to Murphy.
Finn- Did pretty well, maybe got caught on the wrong side a couple of times. One really frustrating time where he challenged for a ball with two Kilkenny forwards; Morrissey had dropped in behind, all Finn had to do was keep them occupied and let the ball run. Instead, he went up with the hurl, the other Kilkenny forward swept it up and scored. Just needed a little bit more game intelligence.
McCarthy- Needed a big performance after Kiely kept faith with him and he delivered. His use of the ball was much better than previously, mainly looked for a short pass into the half-backs or midfield. Looked like someone gave him a talking to after the Clare game, and he listened. Would it have been different if KK had played low balls in front of Fennelly? Maybe, but he did what he had to.
Casey- Much improved defensively, stuck to his man like glue. Use of the ball- absolutely woeful. The worst of the lot by a mile. The one where he tried to spoon it off one-handed, and a Kilkenny forward took it handily and put it over was horrible. Lots to improve, but he pretty much cleaned his man.
Morrissey- Two Championship starts this year and he did alright in both, I thought he was impressive. Caught some high balls, made some big hits, swept up nicely.
Hannon- Probably our best player. Walsh stayed off him which meant he was free and you’d expect someone of his class to clean up in that situation. And he did; but he also looked a lot more confident & aggressive than the past two years. From where I was sitting, it looked like he was at least trying to feed the forwards with decent ball but other people have been slamming his delivery. I know that we didn’t win much, but he was trying the angled balls into the corners. I’d have to watch it back to really say for certain but I’d have him as the main success story of the year. Can definitely still improve on the defensive side, just getting close to players shooting when he is the nearest man.
Hickey- Did fine, I thought.
Browne- Some people criticising him here, I thought he was one of our best in the first half, got on a lot of ball and doesn’t just fuck it away. Maybe ran out of steam but as long as he keeps moving and making himself available, he’s a key player for us. Still one of our most important players.
O’Donovan- Did alright. Missing the two sidelines was frustrating but he worked very hard, and filled in ably at centre-forward too.
Lynch- I thought when he was at midfield in the first-half that he did fairly well, he was putting some nice balls into the corners… nearly any good ball that went into Casey or Hegarty was from him. He was then moved out to wing-forward and every puck-out was aimed at him and he did fuck all. Keep him in midfield. Probably does need a kick up the hole all the same. Shocking wide aswell in the first half, and it was one where if he had just handpassed it off to Dempsey.
Hayes- Scored two points from play in the first half and looked by far our best forward. Was quieter in the second half, but always felt that if we were going to score a goal, it was going to be a run straight through by him. Kilkenny were never going to let him through without fouling though.
Dowling- His first-half performance was woeful, really really bad. His touch was really shit, he missed frees and from play; and a potential goal chance, he just through himself on the ground instead of making sure he picked it up and at least tapping it over the bar. He was much improved in the second, and worked hard, and picked off two scores from play. Real Jekyll & Hyde stuff.
Casey- He’s got a bit of class. His first score was just brilliant. Maybe could be encouraged to go for goal a bit more, but probably needed a bit of support. The lack of ball he got against Clare was criminal.
Hegarty- Still don’t think he’s a full-forward, he seemed to be most effective when doubling up in one of the corners with Casey/Dempsey. Worked really hard, made life really difficult for the Kilkenny backs and picked off two good scores, including a lovely one from a difficult angle in the corner. Still would have switched him with Dowling.
Dempsey- Very very quiet, Murphy cleaned him. Has talent but I dunno, he doesn’t get on the ball enough. I didn’t think he should start for that reason. Made a few bad decisions when he did get on the ball too. Still young, plenty to work on.
Jim-Bob- I thought he did well when he came on. A tight, congested game with lots of rucks; that’s what he revels in. When we were winning fuck all in the forwards in the second half, the only time we created chances was when he worked it through midfield, usually him laying off a handpass to someone and then a forward making a run.
Morrissey/Nash/Mulcahy- None of them did much really, Nash scored a handy point but was beaten by Walsh really. I would have moved him out to the half-forward line when that was apparent though, we need to run at them from deep if we weren’t winning it inside.
Pat Ryan Simon- Scored a point, ran around a bit, but not too much impact.
What’s your point? Is about Dowling roaring at Kiely or him not getting an answer. The manager is not responsible for keeping time. In fact, I was on the sideline in Thurles one day when one of the inventors of hurling, Liam Sheedy, turned around and asked me how long was left despite having two digital clocks at either end of the stadium and a fucking stopwatch around his neck!!
How in the name of Jesus can you seriously rate Jim Bob like that?
My point was quite clearly made.
He was seeking guidance from his management. The manager should have been more proactive with instructions, imo
Great to read from someone with functioning eyes.
And Barry gavin is a fat prick cody stooge, but sure you knew that anyway.
