Ya cant imagine it will. Kilbeacanty were due to play the Junior C County final on Saturday against Clarinbridge aswell. I doubt they will right to play that fixture for a long time. It will have an absolutely devastating on the parish, He was the pride and joy.
I felt sick to my stomach when I heard the news. How something like this can happen is beyond belief. I come from a small club/parish myself. Nearly every team big or small has a jewel in the crown or a prodigious talent. I was only thinking, I cant imagine what I would be like as a brother or team mate if something like this happened.

Kilbeacanty paid this moving tribute to their pride and joy, Niall Donoghue.

Following a meeting of the Galway CCCC this evening, the senior and minor county hurling finals have been moved from Sunday to Bank Holiday Monday at the same times.
1pm MHC final Turloughmore v Liam Mellows
2.45 SHC final Portumna v Loughrea.
There will be little celebrating done Monday might by either of those teams.
The hurling fraternity are in complete shock.

It’s going to cast a shadow over Galway hurling for some time I think.
Considering the Galway winners don’t have to play a provincial championship, they’d be as well off putting it back a couple of weeks. When the dust settles it can go one of two ways for Galway hurling, at senior inter-county level at least. It’s the most tragic motivating factor you could possibly have but I expect it may well be that for them next year.
