La Liga 2015/16

Go on then. List the games since February where he has been on a different planet to any other player

Real Sociedad were shit in 2003 and yet they only lost La Liga to a Real Madrid team containing Ronaldo, Figo and Zidane on the final day of the season.

Ergo, that La Liga was shit.

Pretty much every match.

Barcelona were going nowhere until he started playing for them.

Then they became unstoppable.

He was the best player on the pitch (after Buffon) in the CL final.

He was very good alright. The only performance I saw from any player in the last while that has been on another planet is Messi in the first leg vs Bayern last year. Unbelievable stuff

More to do with a return to form for Messi (due to the help of Suarez and Neymar) than Suarez

Ibrahimovic v Denmark a little over two weeks ago.

Aye Denmark

Messi had shown plenty of form since 2011 and yet Barcelona were still stagnating.

Suarez transformed them. Suarez is the difference. He’s been the difference on every team he’s played for.

Yes.

Sweden, he didn’t have Neymar or Suarez or Rakitic or Busquets or Iniesta or Alves or Alba alongside him.

Messi shits his togs when playing beside superstars for Argentina, Zlatan carries the journeymen on the Swedish team on his shoulders.

The rest of the Barcelona team were underperforming against Bayern that night. Messi scored two individual goals to effectively end the tie. Fair play Zlatan was brilliant against Denmark but its only Denmark. This will be my last post in this thread for the night as I’m getting sick of it

The rest of the Barcelona team were not underperforming, they were the better team and deservedly won. Messi is a player who is a slave to the style Barca play and is only as good as the players around him - this is why he won’t leave Barca or if he should it will be along with Guardiola.

I’ll give you one thing, you’re some revisionist. Bayern didn’t even have a shot on target in the whole game.

Pogba walked all over City a week or so ago now that I think about it.

It was 0-0 and Barca were beginning to look toothless and Messi scored two great individual goals and set up the third effectively ending what was a tight tie. It was an unbelievable performance

Bayern Munich didn’t even have a shot on target in that game, mate.

Irrelevant. Barcelona were at home and struggling to score when Messi took control. Your whole point loses credibility when you can’t accept he was brilliant in that game

Not irrelevant, Barca were well in control of that game and on top. Bayern on the other hand were toothless, being at home in a knockout European tie is more about not conceding than scoring, as George Hamilton will tell you - away goals count double.

It went from a 50:50 tie to game over due to Messi and Messi alone

You also dismiss the fact messi has been outstanding in 3 completely different barca team. Franks, Peps and Enriques. While all were great they played completely different. Messi has also been outstanding on the wing, up front and in attacking midfield. Also every team sets up to deep to defend against Messi with often 3/4 around him anytime he goes near the ball. Zaltan or any other footballer in the last 20 years has had to deal with that.

Messi was peripheral under Rijkaard. The football has been the same style as Guardiola since he has left.
