Lance Armstrong

Someone texted Phantom FM earlier asking them to play Drug Drug Druggie by the Manic Street Preachers especially for Lance Armstrong.

Eddy Merckx:

"The whole case is based on witnesses, itā€™s deeply unjust.ā€

What a fucking dickhead.

No sign of Lanceā€™s no 1 cheerleader Anto?

I donā€™t think it helps matters that thereā€™s been so little presentation of the evidence against Armstrong over the last few days. Over and over again itā€™s just been the statement that former teammates are giving evidence against him, making it easy for pro-Lance people to dismiss the whole thing as a witch-hunt.

Thatā€™ll all come out soon though right? Bruyneel and Ferrari are up on charges. After it does heā€™ll be thoroughly and completely disgraced, I hope.

+1

If Larry Armstrong was a drug cheat then Bradley Wiggles most definitely is one.

Will it though? Listening to Walsh and Kimmage over the last two days I get the impression that Armstrongā€™s move is going to prevent a lot of stuff coming to light. That was the whole point of him ā€˜decidingā€™ not to fight the charges.

It will all come out wtb. http://www.velonation.com/News/ID/12712/Travis-Tygart-Interview-Armstrongs-results-from-August-1st-1998-will-be-stripped.aspx
There is a massive amount of evidence already against him wtb and far more than just former teammates. He has failed several tests, made payments to UCI,threatened anti-doping campaigners, repeatedly missed doping test, repeatedly delayed giving samples to testers, doctors on USPS seen disposing of doping products. This is already in the public domain. Just some choose not to believe it.

Merckx failed 3 drugs tests in his career it must be pointed out, once whilst leading the Giro, like Pantani.

Christ thereā€™s some sickening shit in that cyclingnews index. LA attacking Willy Voet being a good one. What a fucking wanker. I hope he comes to the Phoenix Park again for one of his cancer rides, I really do.
And I used to fancy Sheryl Crow too. The bastard. The absolute bastard.

Some gas stuff in there too

(David Walsh): ā€¦let me finish the question - you present yourself as the cleanest of clean riders and yet you associate with somebody whose reputation is incredibly tarnished. That person is going to go in trouble in two monthsā€™ time. Would you not think it would be in the interests of cycling for you to suspend your relationship with Michele Ferrari until he has answered the charges of which he is accused. [color="#ff0000"]LA: You have a point. Itā€™s my choice, I view him as innocent, heā€™s a clean man in my opinion, let there be a trial. Let there be a trial, let the man prove himself innocent. Let there be a US Postal affair in France, let us prove ourselves innocent. Letā€™s let that play out and then weā€™ll decide.

Neil Armstrong > Lance Armstrong

I suspect heā€™s saying would like to see how Roche gets on if he were to juiced up. I very much doubt Roche would go down that route and I donā€™t think there is a systematic doping regime at Saxo. That said Saxo have largely been a negative force in the sport and with retrospect I think Roche joining is something that really leaves a bad taste. I wonder were Garmin in for him. That would have been ideal. Hesjedal will only continue to improve next year so riding for him would have been great. Other alternatives too. By associating with Riis, Contador it does the sport no favours.
Fair play to Larsson on his comments regarding Armstrong. Criticism of him from many quarters has been all too qualified by many and those who continue to muddy the waters are doing sport only damage in the long run. Larsson, Gerdermann etc are dead right for speaking out. http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/larsson-applauds-armstrong-decision

Lance Armstrong has raised half a billion dollars to fight cancer

he is a genuine hero and good guy

In a sport filled with cheats its sickening that the miracle man is being victimized by anglophile cycling fans jealous of his success

Explain how the half a billion has helped fight cancer if you donā€™t mind

Armstrong is seen as an anglophile by the vast majority of the cycling world you fucking moron.

eh, the USA isnt England you idiot

advocacy
research
education

You never fail to entertain me mate. Never change, please.

another thing that sickens me about this witch hunt on here is that the leader of the mob(a certain ulsterman) interest in cycling is directly proportional to the increase in interest Sky seem to be taking in cycling
