What do you mean by “strong right wing views”? Is your equivalent on the left, far left communists? Sally Rooney is into her Marxism. David Mamet would be what I suppose would be described as right wing, his works were adored until he came out as right wing, now it’s problematic and symbolic of toxic masculinity.
Historically, most art was funded via patrons. Patrons who were often monarchs, slave owners etc. Realistically most of the art that snobs like cannot be funded without the uber wealthy funding it - which previously was kings and queens, now it’s Bezos and Zuck. Art has a very problematic history and present. There’s always efforts to get the State to fund the rights but you often find in authoritarian left wing regimes that it’s the arty types who come out as the biggest subversives, because their voice is not only censored (like it would be in right wing regimes), but their funding sources dry up.
I would say most mainstream comedy is simply democratic. It is nothing without the free market so appeals to broad tastes. “Cancel culture” and the efforts to put warnings on the likes of the Simpsons on Disney+ would suggest the best mainstream stuff in the arts was certainly not PC, which I guess you could collate with “the left”.
Music is always a little more “pure” in it’s messaging but realistically they’re mostly hypocrites and live up that free market, capitalist lifestyle. I think it’s easier for them to keep “pure” in message (as opposed to comedy, which plays on stereotypes and society more) as a good chunk of people who listen to music don’t really listen to the lyrics.
In terms of sports, globally speaking they’re mostly meat head morons who really don’t care. Are there many left wing politicians with a sporting background - thinking on it you had the great Jack Kemp who ran for Vice President of the US under the GOP banner, Tom Osborne, Seb Coe etc that were right wing. In Irish terms, most Oirish association football players are illiterate or barely associated with Ireland, GGA players are teachers or publicans so right wing whilst rugby football is the broad Church. You have your Dick Spring on your left and the decent neoliberals to the right like Suds and Hugo MacNeil.

I actually meant right wing in any way you want it really. Shouldn’t have said strong right wing even. Very very few any of them in the arts field it’s as simple as that. Especially music, comedy, movie making etc. Countless left wing ones. Right wingers are better at making money in fairness.

Cancel culture is part and parcel of the left these days. Woke culture is now more a target for humour that the “right”, the Stephen Colberts of the world are long gone.

You’re a bit thick cos I made an astute observation.
There’s a simple explanation for this, at least for artists and musicians. Artists in general are not grounded in reality, they are grounded in illusion and fantasy. The finest example of course is Hollywood, completely removed from reality, the socialist utopia sounds wonderful to them because they would never have to experience the effects of it.
The real creative people in society are those who produce things of real value, farmers, engineers, tradesmen, etc.
In short, you can’t live in a film and you can’t eat a song.
