Leinster GAA needs a strong Wexford and Offaly in particular. One is going backwards at a rate of knots, the other is probably doing OK from where they’ve been, but need more than the one crop of youngsters to take the mantle. Wx underage is in a bad, bad way.
Galway are transitioning post Canning, thsl be back, need Leinster for their development of course. Dublin are a level or two ahead or where they’ve been last year. Still, tomorrow and next week will speak volumes to see if O Ceallachain goes into the busted flush thread.
Antrim clearly brought nothing, and will be broke for it.
Kilkenny can only beat what’s in front of them. Maybe that’s why they’re about to go 10 years without Liam McCarthy.
Kilkenny winning 19/25 championships since the turn of the millenium is where the problem is.
They haven’t even been all that great in the last few years and are still going for six in a row this year. Some of those finals have been very dull games.
I actually think Dublin by sheer weight of numbers will get there sooner rather than later, that’ll improve things, but like the game of hurling itself it needs a strong Wexford and an interested Galway.
Wexford and Offaly supporters staying away in their droves today.
Jackie Tyrrell with a piece on how it wasn’t just Chin today, it was Wexford’s unheralded players who stepped up…he proceeds to get all their names wrong. Declan Reck, Conor Ahearne & so on.
Some goal there from forum favourite Tony B.
Edit: his second was even better.
We had a crap Leinster final last year but it might have been decent if wexford hadnt fallen asleep and let Dubs in for 2 late goals… But to fair if you lose to Antrim you dont deserve to be in any final
If Dublin beat Galway in Parnell park (and they could of course) we will have another poor final Id wager
On the evidence so far there isnt much between Dub/Wex/Off…all 3 poor enuf …
Galway seem to have got their act together eventually this year and will give Kk a game in the final if they get there…
So its up to Galway to save Leinster hurling !
I’m conflicted here, Davy is a you know what but so is Johnny.
Johnny loves to ruin a game of hurling so he does.
Davy apparently drives a 7 series.
In fairness to davy that sending off seemed harsh. Hard to see what the antrim guy did.
Apparently since when?
I agree with Davy on the sending off. As for Antrim’s performances in last few weeks, shocking. Can’t see them beating the Biffos next week
Ha first score illustrated this.
Good start for Dublin vs strong wind.
KK with some bad wides so far.
Cian O’Sullivan running riot.
Dublin still carrying a few lads who passable vs Offaly/Wex but will be exposed here.
Richie Reid has no interest in marking. Happy to sit and help the other backs
Mannion exposed this vs Galway. COS doing likewise
If Real Madrid played hurling they’d frequently have their opponents gift them the sort of goal Dublin’s John Bellew just gifted Adrian Mullen.
KK are at nothing persisting with him.
