Thatā€™s the game that taught me to respect Wexford as a chap and itā€™s stood the test of time down through the years. Wexford people are the soundest you could meet and Iā€™d look forward to meeting them in any match. Thereā€™s fierce rivalry between us but youd have no bother sipping pints with these lads before and after a game

All you lads have won in the last 25 years is an angry Klare dwarf who charges 80k a year.

Oh the seethe

Strange how it took you ten minutes to type that.

@padjo needs to have a quiet word with @Mac about how to play this

Please donā€™t take it out on us Wexford folk, @Lazarus, @Ambrose_McNulty.

@mac is hysterical after Wexfordā€™s three draws.

Heā€™s too transfixed by the iconic jumper Fitzy was wearing that day to focus.
Or maybe heā€™s just pissed again

Weā€™ve no problem with Wexford mate, itā€™s just that cunt @mac .

Rent free lads, rent free

Looks like our gentle ribbing has ruined @Macs weekend

Weird

Best score I saw in the flesh , then came Ciaran in 1996 v Clare

I was on the upper deck of the Hogan Stand level with the 21 yard line at the Canal End. You couldnā€™t have had a better seat to watch that point unfold.

Shane Warne certainly thought that match stood the test of time - he was raving about being at it during the commentary of a test match between Australia and India four or five years back - however he mistakenly said it was the All-Ireland final between Kilkenny and Galway he had attended.

I had a lovely little almost annual tradition of going to Kilkenny-Wexford matches at Croke Park as a kid. '87, '88, '91, '92, '93. But I didnā€™t go to the replay either as I went to the mudbath of Clones for the Derry-Donegal Ulster final instead. Iā€™ve never attended a Kilkenny-Wexford championship match since*.

*I was at the second half of the 2007 All-Ireland semi-final between the teams, but that wasnā€™t a match. Itā€™s the only time I can think of that a match was a curtain raiser to another match at a less advanced round of the championship.

My first trip to Croke Park was 1987, Wexford v KK. KK won and Wexford wore purple on top of the gold bellies that year. Any pics out there I wonder?

We were top of the Cusack, Hill 16 end.
