A Leitrim County Board meeting this week confirmed the make up of the senior and minor management teams for the coming year.
As had already been announced Sean Hagan will take charge of the senior team and it has now been confirmed that Christy Carroll will take on the role of selector.
The third member of the management team will be Aidan McCarron whose role will see him act as a selector and trainer.
The senior management team is in full: Sean Hagan (manager), Christy Carroll (selector), Aidan McCarron (selector, fitness, trainer).
Details of the backroom team were also announced and this will consist of John Keenan, Peter Flynn, John Mulvey, Brian Blake and Brendan Doyle (player analyst). Strength and conditioning will be in association with Cathal Cregg/Connacht Centre of Excellence.
The minor team management team for 2014 was also announced and will see the following take charge: Enda Lyons, Joe Cox, Gareth Foley, Martin Doonan. John Russell (physio)
Leitrim manager Sean Hagan says everyone in the county will be afforded the same opportunity of making the county panel.
This includes the four players who were axed for disciplinary reasons by the previous regime during the summer.
Two of those men, Wayne McKeon and Shane Moran, took part in county trials at Pairc Sean on Sunday and Hagan insists the door is open to all:
“They are being treated equally, the same as every other player and it’s up to them,” he tells The Leitrim Observer.
"The whole emphasis with a new management team is about bringing freshness and enthusiasm into the set-up.
"There was an awful lot of preparation behind the scenes trying to organise these trials.
“Every club was contacted to make sure that every player who wants to play for Leitrim - and has the ability to play for Leitrim - will have the opportunity to do so.”
Currently unavailable due to Eslin’s committments to the Connacht club competition.
Keep up.
In other news, Carrick is bracing itself for a weekend of anticipated hi-jinks. Emergency services on full alert and riot control barriers being brought in. A local Garda says they’ll “pen the cunts into Dunnes and work from there”…
