I hear mulligan will be lining out for Donegal in NY in a couple of weeks $$$$$
On one hand, you couldnt blame him. On the other hand, he wouldnât strike you as the nicest fella. I wonder how often he wishes he was across the way in Donegal with the rest of his family.
I read an interview with Gary Reynolds, Leitrim captain, last week and it puzzled me I must admit. He completely ruled out the notion of a B Championship and would have no motivation to train for such a thing. Yet he doesnât seem to have a problem in training for the main Championship and comstantly get hammered.
I wonder would a hybrid championship be pallet-able to the likes of Leitrim whereby they would play in a b Championship as Leitrim and then join up with another B championship team to compete in the A championship.
For arguments sake if you had 16 counties in the A championship and 16 in the B. Geographically where possible you could have 4 spots in the A for amalgamations and have a 20 teams A championship. Would a Leitrim/Sligo team be competitive or a Waterford/Kilkenny/Wexford/Wicklow combined team etc Would give players an opportunity to play in the A championship and also for smaller counties a chance to develop in the B and progress to the A.
From what Reynolds said I donât think he would be on for that. He speaks of wanting to play Roscommon each year due to local rivalry.
It is a problem now that simple cannot be ignored any longer. Leitrim have 3 players not playing who are in the top 5 players in the county. Can you blame them? Burst your arse all year training wise only to her one win every 10 years. Morale is destroyed in the county - I see it even with my club. We can barely field a team this year. GAA is massive in rural communities from a social point of view. This is where the focus should be - not fucking black cards.
I think weâll have to join up with sligo alright, getting well bet every year is doing nobody any good
Sure sligow are as handicapped as US nearly
Maybe weâre special

Youâre not wrong there @farmerinthecity. At an all-time low. Like it or not the Beer-gate incident has had a huge carry-over.
But weâre wrong to stand for the current scutter. Who the fuck wanted this shithole in Annaduff (not their fault).
A fucking waste of money on the scale of the fucking Anglo bail-out. Then to see fuckers who wouldnât get a kick in a fucking horse-box bollocksing about in County tracksuit tops while supping âenergy drinksâ and blowing smoke up our holes.
Our focus should be on escaping D4 and leaving behind the worthless cunts that dwell there.Doubtful if any of the residents there have won a Provincial title even in my lifetime - but we have - and done it the hard way.
We need to step back from confrontational Connacht battles - regroup and attack D4. Winning brings confidence and impetus and with that weâll attack the Nestor trophy in 2018 with the zeal that brought it home 24 years earlier.
Is this an attack on the Darcy family?
I donât think that the âAughawillian Darcysâ dwell there. Theyâre more west Dublin folk iirc.
However, to indulge you, Declanâs father, single-handledly dragged Aughawillian to the top tier of Leitrim football.
Frank Darcy was the toughest nut in Leitrim in his time (the early 60âs) A Mick Wallace type (of the flowing locks) but with substance, as in a belt 10 secs. laterâŚ
I knew Frank back in the day. They lived in Sandymount and the Leitrim team trained at Sean Moore Park when I was a youngfella, including the all-conquering 1994 team.
Clanna Gael Fontenoy were intermediate back then (and still now unfortunately) which was probably the main reason Declan decided to play for St Brigids when he threw his lot in with Dublin.
Qualifier draw next Tuesday morning. Weâll face one of the following:
Wicklow/Derry/Carlow/Armagh/Waterford/Laois*/losers of Meath vs Louth
We will be at home against all bar Carlow and Wicklow (possible we could still play them two at home if drawn out first)
*Apologies @myboyblue
No apologies necessary.
Informative rating.
No one gives a fuck rating.
Sorry lads.
Looks like weâre home to fagans crowd
We are indeed. Both teams will fancy their chances but I think weâll get over the line
Iâll take that!
Tis ourselves were codding only
