Well done to the Senior lads who defeated Aughawillan by 4 points in the Senior League at the South Leitrim venueā€¦ https://t.co/A5ARESzCTq

Great win for the juniors this evening.

Leitrim have qualified for the Connacht junior football championship final for the first time since 2014 after seeing off Galway at Pairc Sean Mac Diarmada tonight.

In what was a closely fought contest in Carrick-on-Shannon, the hosts managed by senior selector Seamus Quinn ran out winners on a 3-16 to 2-15 scoreline with Jack Heslin firing a late goal to secure the victory.

Runners-up in the past two seasons, the visitors trailed by 2-7 to 1-8 at the interval with both sides swapping goals at the beginning of the second quarter through Paddy Walsh (Galway) and Gary Plunkett (Leitrim).

Keith Keegan had netted the gameā€™s opening goal for Leitrim on 13 minutes, leaving the teams level - 1-2 to 0-5.

Galway had the better of the third quarter exchanges, outscoring their opponents by 1-6 to 0-5 with Gary Kelly dispatching a 42nd minute penalty to the back of the Leitrim net to give the Tribesmen a 2-13 to 2-11 lead.

The home side were not to be denied, however, and points from Keith Beirne (two frees) and Cathal McCrann saw them back in front before Gortletteragh clubman Heslin pounced for his major in the 60th minute.

Jack Heslin is a terrific young talent. I see the bould Cathal McCrann added his weight to the proceedings.

The criterion for this is vague is it not. No senior I/C the year before I assume. Fuck it - the fancy Danā€™s dispatchedā€‹ with their arses in a slingā€¦

Any forum heads to be spotted here @massey, @anon67715551, et al?

Not me mercifully, but I was on the previous tour de force in 2003. That was the year Ballinamoreā€™s Ciaran Murray morphed into Bomber Murray after hi-jinks at JFK on the homeward journey

A grand oulā€™ week with some memorable escapadesā€¦:beers::beers:

The crowd were well gone judging by that photo,Iā€™d say we were in Clarkes on McLean Ave by then. There was some crowd there in 03 @anon67715551,the fire marshall was telling the lads on the gate to stop admitting people as we went in.A few heads that turned up after 3 were refused entry. We were lucky to win that game.

Leitrimā€™s preparations for the Connacht Championship have been handed a blow with the news that attacker Nevin Oā€™Donnell has suffered a season ending cruciate injury.

The Shannon Gaels Cavan clubman has seen a lot of action for Leitrim since he declared for the Green & Gold last year with his pace a real asset but the former Lough Allen College student suffered the injury when playing for his club against Mountnugent in a Cavan League game the weekend before last.

The blow comes after news that several Leitrim players are battling injury in a race to be fit for the Connacht Championship clash against London on Sunday, May 28, at the opening of the new stand in Ruislip.

Fucks sake.

Mulligan has only gone and done his cruciate for a third time.

Fucks sake

Ah for fuck sake no

Connacht junior final vs Mayo this evening.

Liatroim AbĆŗ

Heā€™s proven to be brittle since the 1st. injury all right.

Iā€™m not tearing my hair out though as Iā€™ve always found he was a bit of a greedy fucker wanting things to evolve around him.

The bigger loss given the shit hole weā€™re in now is Kevin Conlan.

Now thereā€™s a loss.
