Few points on the above

  • Our full back line needs to be at its best against Galway’s forwards. There is the argument of bringing McKeon out to centre half and push Michael McGuinness into full back bringing in my school mate Ciaran Kennedy. Ciaran is a nice lad but is not good enough at this level. Leave as is I say
  • Prior played centre half against London due to McWeeney’s unavailability. McWeeney is m,uch better suited to the centre I think
  • We have no midfield unless we bring Maxwell out there. There’s no point having him inside if the ball doesn’t go in there. Therefore bring him out.
  • Duignan had his best game for us in the Tommy Murphy final last year at centre forward. He played there against London as well and did well by all accounts
  • McBrien has always been a good point taker so he would get the nudge for me to start

McWeeney is the best attacking wing back in the country. Why move him into the centre where his forays forward will be limited?

That’s not what I said. I said he was one of the best half backs in the country where the position of centre half back lies.
