Doon can afford to ease up against Mungret and Ahane .
What is the schedule of games from here?
Doon probably through to a Semi Final to be played in mid October?
Mungret have some bit of a chance tomorrow, it will shake things up for the last couple of rounds if they manage to pull it off.
Absolutely but but poor second halves not a good habit to be in.
Was Simon togged or is he still out?
He did well over all. Puckouts very affective with the wind in second half. Scored 3. Pulled off incredible save from English shot in first half
That’s good. I thought he looked uncomfortable with general goalkeeping stuff when he started there.
The puckouts and frees are a serious weapon and great for him he still gets to play.
We’re gonna fucking do it
Is Adam English playing at centre forward?
How is DOD going?
We had a solid win last night against Dromin/Athlacca, who were obviously coming in confident enough.
They were probably better than us in the first half and deserved their lead but we did take over in the second half. Both sides were wasteful and hit a lot of wides from long range, they missed slightly more than us.
Still, we were relatively comfortable and 6 points up going into injury time when Reidy buried a 20m free. He’s good at them in fairness, it was some finish.
Shaun Barry didn’t score from play but was probably the best player for us, just in how much ball he got on and linked play, won turnovers, serious performance. Ciarán McMahon similarly, only got the one point but won a load of breaks and carried the ball from back to front. Young Seánie Hartigan came on and hit 0-3 from play. ROF also got 0-3 from play from wing-forward. Kyle got through a mountain of work as well and got his couple of scores. Backs in general were very strong, Davy Fitz exceptional, Eddie McLoughlin huge in the second half.
For D/A, Daniel Scully was a threat for them for sure. Both Reidys were good, we obviously tried to curb David’s influence as much as we could but he did get on ball. Mike swept up a lot of ball in the firsts half but was slightly less effective in the second half. Their full-back line did fairly well too.
If Monaleen beat Adare today, it would put three teams on 2 wins + 1 loss with 2 games to play. Ballybrown look fairly certain for a quarter-final at this point; if they beat Liberties as expected, they’ll have one foot there.
Fairly accurate report of the game. KP were very physical throughout and that definitely impacted DAs through the lines style of play. As you said they edged the first half and KP took over in the second half. Comprehensive winners for a finish. DAs shooting was cat particularly in the second half.
Robert O’Farrell is making a strong bid to be called up into the Seniors panel. Think he has everything you need for the inter county game. Be no harm to see how he goes through a league campaign.
Mason in goals too is very decent and has a very good puckout.
The word is that he was being looked at in the Ballybrown game, where he didn’t have his best game (not helped by us being extremely poor across the board).
He has a lot of really good attributes; maybe we got a bit carried away by how easy he found things against Adare when the likes of Ballybrown and the top senior teams bring a whole different level of physicality. He did well yesterday but has more in him again, which is a great place to be.
Because of the absence of BOC, DOC, Nash, Tony McCarthy and Cathal Downes this year, we are relying on him to step up way more than we should. At the end of the day, he’s only 17/18 and it’s not great for us that he’s become one of our most important players instantly. Ideally, you would have liked to bed him in as a support player.
Mason has been superb this year tbf to him. We had a lot of competition for the goalkeeper spot with 3 very talented keepers and Mason made it impossible not to pick him.
Where was Kyle playing?
Adam was the +2. DOD will never play for Limerick again. He’s done.
Started full but again came out centre forward and midfield.
There’s one of them.
