Rathkeale get the job done after extra-time: 1-13 to 0-14.

Not sure many would have predicted them to make a county semi-final at the start of the year.

We need a goal?

Getting tight…

Blackrock sneak a late goal to inflict a first defeat on NCW. Doesn’t affect the standings in any way, that one. NCW still top the group, Blackrock still 6th.

Bruff ended up beating Effin but because Garryspillane held on against Na Piarsaigh, no joy for Granagh/Ballingarry.

So it looks like it’ll be NCW vs Effin and Bruff vs Garryspillane in the semi-finals.

Na Piarsaigh’s loss means they go back down to Intermediate, Glenroe survive.

Bucketing down here in Mungret.

Rathkeale win one not for the neutrals in horrendous conditions.

Ground it out, Glantine didn’t have the athletic ability for them.

A late scoring burst sees the Well lead Claughaun 1-6 to 0-7 ar half time. Calvin Carroll very much to the fore.

Claughaun butchered a couple of good goal chances which they could rue as they face the elements in the second half.

The rain has stopped in Bruff. Still expecting a battle.

I’m going for Knockainey by 3.

We lost the Intermediate relegation dogfight 1-11 to 0-9. We’ll just have to bring a bit of razzmatazz to premier Junior A next year

HT in Bruff, Bruree lead 1-8 to 0-4 having played with the gale.

Rain has stayed away so far, I’d say Knockainey will be happy enough. Bruree didn’t score for the last 8 minutes of the half, having totally dominated.

Kirby really struggled with his puckouts, couldn’t get past the half-back line and Bruree ateing the rucks.

Brian Sexton got the goal, Sam Cronolly looks a threat as you’d expect. They’ve left scores behind them though. When Knockainey get into Bruree’s half, they do look dangerous so they’ll probably feel they can cause the Bruree backs problems second half.

The Mushes dogged it out today. Plenty of fighting spirit on show

Bruree dogged it out in the end. I thought they were vulnerable with only a 7-point lead at half-time. And they had the same problems that Knockainey had against the wind; couldn’t really get out of their half.

But Knockainey played into their hands really, launched a lot of high ball down on top of their forwards which suited the Bruree backs. They never exposed Stone for pace and they had lively fellas like Eoin Cleary & Rory Reale inside there.

Honestly, on the day, it was aimless enough stuff from Knockainey and they looked poorly set up; they didn’t adapt to the conditions. Bruree worked their socks off. They hunted and pressed and got in the faces of the Knockainey backs. They gave Dermot Walsh at 6 an awful time in the first half, turned him over a fair few times.

The first half goal proved crucial in the end, Knockainey hunted for goals but didn’t get anything clearcut. Fionn O’Brien was safe enough when he had to be. Conor Frawley very good for Bruree, Kevin Hayden at wing-back was solid, Sam Cronolly and Brian Sexton were willing runners in attack.

For Knockainey, Finch was fairly strong at full-back, I thought Colin Buckley worked well and Mikey O’Grady was a threat but they didn’t give the right ball to their forwards at all.

Knockaderry just about got the job done against Caherline. A 2 point win in the end.
