Very sloppy of you in fairness

Noticeable that there was no embossing on the jerseys for the last two finals.

@Aristotle who do you reckon will win out each of the club championships this year?

Fair play to Tom Ryan in today’s Daily Mail calling out the spending power of the Limerick hurling team and how it is ruining hurling.

Money never put the ball over the bar

Very hard to call at this point, wouldn’t like to make too many outright predictions without getting some sort of feel for form and injuries, etc.

On the face of it, it’s hard to look past Na Piarsaigh for the senior, simply because it looks like they’re back to full-strength and have an array of talent. But that’s not to say they’re unbeatable either, Kilmallock have added Shane O’Brien and have a new management team. Doon will have Murphy back which is massive. The Well potentially in bother with injuries.

In the Premier Intermediate, Monaleen will have been so disappointed to go down and will fancy their chances to go back up. But NCW, add Con Hayes to a team who got out of the group in their first year… I think they’ll have learned from that, and Hayes is a big addition. They’d be my favourites, although Bruff couldn’t be as bad as last year and were perennial contenders before last season’s disaster.

Much like Bruff, Murroe/Boher will be shocked by last year’s performances, except they actually got relegated. Back-to-back relegations but, on paper, they will be the favourites to go up. But it’s a lot harder to win a division outright than stay up imo. I actually think it’s a very even division; Croagh/Kilfinny went very close last year, Bruree have rebuilt a young side. Then you have the likes of Granagh/Balligarry, Feohanagh and Na Piarsaigh 2 will be way stronger this year if the seniors have everyone back. I think this is the most even division this year, don’t think there’s an equivalent of Effin last year who were way stronger than everybody else.

And the junior, shur how could I call that? Nobody would have predicted Caherline last year but Gillane got them organised, got the most out of their big men and got promoted. But even the semi-finalists last year were surprises. If I had to make a guess, I would go for Castletown/Ballyagran. Young Riordan is now eligible to play for them and while he may get flaked a bit, he’s an outstanding prospect and will be one of the most dangerous forwards at that level, and they already had one of the stronger panels down there.

Again, without any real form guide and not knowing who teams are missing and who is over various teams, it’s very hard to call. Junior, especially, is a bearpit with only 2 teams coming out of 6-team groups, one slip-up could fuck up a big favourite like last year.

You couldn’t predict anything in that Junior Championship

Croagh/Kilfinny to win the intermediate.

You heard it here first.

They won’t be far off it alright.

Although I heard Jack Lenihan had torn the hammer badly. If that’s correct that would put paid to their chances, he’s outstanding for them

Dromin/Athlacca will give Prem Intermediate a right shot with Cian Scully now eligible. One of the few 18 year olds that featured in the U20 AI, he’s one to keep an eye on

He’s a class player, I’m told football hasn’t done them any favours with regards niggles etc but with a full complement they won’t be far off it.

C/K, G/B and Knockaderry in the one group. Sensational.

Too many other gaps to fill I would think.

Newcastle West won’t be far off it

They’ll be a force alright if they have everyone fit. Young Kelly wasn’t playing for the footballers recently so if he’s injured they’ll be in bother

Brilliant to have club championship matches in July. Every club will be down one or two with J1’s or holidays etc but so be it. The greater good is served by giving games to the majority.

Going senior, prem intermediate, intermediate and junior has led to a big improvement in the standard across all grades IMO.

It would be fantastic to have a club final in somewhere like Kilmallock, NCW or Bruff. It’s becoming like the football in that there’s no business bringing it to GG unless it’s a very new pairing, which is won’t be

The atmosphere would be much better in those smaller, close knit grounds

The grass bank in Bruff on a sunny, balmy Saturday night with a big crowd in is iconic.

Used to love playing in Bruff, lovely pitch and mostly happy memories apart from Adare chinning us in the 1990 minor final with a last minute goal🤦‍♂️ @Phil_Leotardo

I think players still want to play in the GG when it comes to a final. Something about receiving the cup on the pitch doesn’t feel right for such a big occasion, from a spectators point of view the atmosphere would be definitely better in the smaller ground, I can see that side of it alright.
