They’ll give it a good crack but there are other decent teams at the grade. Bruree are absolutely flying by all accounts, they’re saying Sam Cronolly is causing absolute wreck. Beat Ballyhea & Causeway handy enough, two decent sides.
Scully is a classy hurler, just seems to have so much time on the ball. We played them recently, they’re a good side alright, don’t know if they have enough to go senior though. I would suggest that they perhaps don’t have enough to hold the real top forwards at the grade without really having enough at the other end bar Reidy. Be interesting to see where Scully lines out for them.
If NCW have DMK & Hayes inside, Nix at 11; Brian Hurley & Mark Kelly around there too, they’ll be hard-stopped. Mike Mac aswell obviously.
And we haven’t mentioned Cappamore who did get to a final last year, against the odds.
He’s one for the future alright. That was a good minor side he was on, featured the aforementioned Hayes, SOB, Riordan, a few others.
If Ethan Hurley lines out at 6 as well for NCW they’ll be hard beat. Himself, Nix, Kelly, all of the other Hurley’s in the clan are all very tidy hurlers
They got a fair beating from Cork, but I still think there were a lot of very talented players on that team. Young Fitz from Pallaskenry has been one of our form players so far this year, a serious operator.
Fitzgerald from Monaleen, Vince Harrington from NaP. O’Carroll will make a big difference for Croagh/Kilfinny this year & Fitzgibbon from Cappamore will be a huge addition- he almost had them competing at Premier Minor last year on his own.
Looks like Mikey Gavin from Ballybrown will be centre-back for them this year at 18 years of age. He was only a sub on that team.
There was a lad from C/M starting too and he was handy, he will be a big addition in their hopes to get promoted. I’m unsure what they’re like overall but with him and CON they won’t be far off
Annoying how so many of them are on at the same time; surely from both a spectator & referee point-of-view, they could put a few on earlier on the Saturday rather than all at 7pm.
4 junior groups as well this weekend.
Cannot wait. Some buzz around the place at the weekend, the anticipation of the first weekend of Championship is always huge.
