Can’t bait talent

Few of the Feonagh defenders moved out of the way there pretending they were moving towards it.

NAPs second team winning that would not be a great. But hon the fucking Dow

The winning margins of the 6 intermediate championship matches played this weekend.

1, 1, 1, draw, 3, 7.

@balbec wrote it already… Something about Doon and a cap.

In the modern world of turmoil and uncertainty, it’s great the way some things never change.

Would you have the actual starting 15 for NaP2?

30 games played across the grades but not a while pile in the way of shocks or upsets.

A few surprising margins of victory alright: the ease with which Kilmallock disposed of an injury-ridden Patrickswell. Bruff putting a hiding on Effin and Bruree being very comfortable against the ailing Murroe-Boher.

All went pretty much to form in the JAHC with, perhaps, Claughaun’s downing of CTB the only mild eyebrow raiser.

Shock of the weekend… Had they lads available that would be with other sports later in the year or have they a few young’uns coming?

Claughaun were Co Semi Finalists in 2020 though and seemed to fall apart last year, I heard rumblings of some infighting but that’s sorted now. If their house was in order it wouldn’t be that big of a shock as the CTB team that made the Co Final v Kilmallock a few years ago were an older side. They’ve had a few good young lads in since alright

Very few of the hurling team play other sports. It’d be an issue for the footballers alright.
A few young lads coming through also and strong at the back, if a little ill-disciplined. CTB only got 6 points from play, 1-11 from placed balls.

Dominated the game and should have won by a lot more. 6 points up late on before conceding 1-3 on the bounce, 1-2 f it from frees, before winning it with an outrageous Blackhall point from the touchline with the last puck of the game.

The most impressive thing about the Dow last night was his constant impressing upon his defenders to do things better. He had a professionalism about him that stood out. A Nap official would come over to him every so often and the Dow would be instructing him what way he wanted his half forward line to run at puckouts.

Did he pull a hammer running back the field or what?

I have no idea. Was down the other end. Looks like he pulled something from the video.

Chawkie & Malachy in the Poc Fada All-Ireland final today.

Now is not the time to get too carried away and hyping up The Dow in goals too much.

While he obviously has all the skills and would appear to have the right temperament its only when he’s faced with adversity like making a mistake that we’ll know what he’s really like.

Darragh Egan went back into goals at around the same age and looked like he was going to be the best goalie ever for a few games before he had a bit of a nightmare for Kildangan in a County Semi Final and in one of his only games for Tipp Seniors he had a bit of a meltdown against Cork in a League Quarter Final.

Now The Dow is probably good enough for Na Piarsaigh seniors (i was never that convinced by Kennedy and haven’t seen the new guy Condon yet, was it Kevin Ryan played last year and looked very novicey?) but any calls for him to be drafted in as Nicky Quaids understudy would be very premature and disrespectful to Barry Hennessy. It would be box office though.
