Ah ya, Iād say heās fine about it now alright somehow
+1 to BMBās post @Raylan , it was a bad day at the office but by God did he put that behind him to be the first man to lift the Liam McCarthy cup 4 times as captain.
An exceptional achievement.
Imagine having as many as Clare and still being only a young fella
Attended County Board meeting on Tuesday night in Woodlands, hereās the gist of what was discussed:
INTER-COUNTY TICKETING
The County Board (CB) will bring recommendations re ticketing back to Croke Park. However the online system with the involvement of Ticketmaster is here to stay. The CB acknowledged there are problems with the new system - most notably printing costs and clubs getting left with tickets if supporters order and then do not purchase, especially for the AI Final. Secretaries having to take out credit extensions on their own credit cards was also discussed, but this is hoped to be alleviated going forward by news that both AIB and BOI now permit clubs to open a credit card account.
The majority of clubs communicated to the CB that they didnāt want to send codes to each supporter for the AI Final, like had been the case for Munster Final & AI Semi Final. It was easier to just purchase one bunch together at a time. The online system is deemed to be much quicker & more efficient, especially given the quick turnaround of only 2 weeks for the AI Final. The CB are to suggest to Croke Park to extend the inter county system by 2 weeks into the first week of August. Giving more time to organise any ticket sales and player preparations for any potential AI Final.
The All Stars banquet will take place on Thursday October 20th.
People who wish to have the Liam McCarthy Cup visit their home/school/club are urged to contact Limerick GAA directly on 061 335516 or by email at

CLUB NEWS / RELEVANT INFORMATION
Gates on the first weekend of the championship totalled ā¬41k, with 39k attending on the second weekend.
Clubs are reminded that their Board of Trustees has to be finalised before the first week of December. All clubs who have trustees who are no longer club members or who are deceased, will be contacted by Seamus Twomey (Munster Council Delegate). It was noted that some clubs still have 6 trustees, despite most clubs introducing a cap of 3 trustees as far back as the 1950s. A change on the land registry is required if club trustees are lapsed/deceased. Grants are available from Munster Council for corporate deeds trust - ā¬700 for partial and ā¬1000 for full corp deeds.
Clubs are asked to identify supporters who may be disenfranchised by the new electronic ticketing system. This will be mostly older fans who are computer or mobile phone illiterate. Itās recommended the club nominate one official to liaise with these supporters, and help them purchase tickets for club and inter county games.
The smart sliotar will be introduced in time for the 2023 inter county season, with a view to it being used at club level for the 2024 season.
Bord na nĆg are hoping to stick to their finals being held in October. All games will be cashless, with Visa machines to be present at the gates for most games going forward.
3 extra Games Development Officers will soon be coming online.
INTER COUNTY TEAM NEWS
ā¬91k was made from the two pre match nights held before AI Final. Most of this will go towards holiday fund for Limerick players. Online sales of the āWin A Peugeotā competition are currently ā¬4,133 with just over 500 tickets sold. The CB are aiming to sell 1,500 tickets in total before the draw is made in September. Clubs are encouraged to plug the car draw on their social media channels.
The stand in Mick Neville Park is now in place with just dressing rooms and some plumbing to be completed. This is costing ā¬426k. Works on the Gaelic Grounds are expected to cost north of ā¬100k. A new sprinkler system has been installed, along with reseeding of playing surface. A new 3G surface will shortly be installed along the front of the Mackey Stand by the dugouts. The stadium is not expected to be available for games until the hurling semi finals at the earliest.
A decision regarding the regrading of underage inter county competitions will be taken next February at National Congress. Limerick CB will be advocating to revert back to u-18 and u-21 age groups.
I would presume if this is successful in February 2023 that it would mean a change to u18 in 2024 as the Munster Minor Championship starts in April I think so hardly come into effect for 2023?
Iād imagine so, couldnāt run it off that quickly in 2023 should any change back to u18 be approved.
Have the minor (u17) and u20 hurling managements for 2023 been made yet? Think the outgoing minor managerās term is up, Iād imagine Mullins will keep the 20ās gig if he wants it.
I didnāt make Tuesday night but that beats the response from my delegateā¦ āfuck all happened!ā

Depends how much of that you consider to be of relevance.
Requires a two thirds majority for it to pass at Congress so by no means is it guaranteed.
Be fair now. They did win the ānearly bate Limerick cupā.

Funnily enough that term is growing legs around the place.
āNearly bate Limerick cupā would be something the likes of @the_man_himself would be big into Id say.

Whatās this now?
Whatās this now?
Thereāll be a chip inside every sliotar. An app on the phone will scan the ball/chip and info relating to the dimensions of the ball will appear. Itās to make sure all sliotars are the same size, weight & thickness.
Referees will have hawk eye on their mobile which will feed off the chip.
Nash and hartigan are leaving the GD roles

Clubs should just go into the Croke Park Trust. Much easier.
Wheres nash off to. He would be a loss. But you couldnāt live off it long term
Didnāt he get a pile of abuse from Limerick fans for that performance?
