Especially after what happened up the country.
Corner back innit
âIâm from Ahane and Iâm a dunceâ.
2022 Munster senior club draws made last night:
Hurling
Quarter-final
Waterford (home adv) v Tipp
Semi-finals
Waterford/Tipp v Limerick
Cork v Clare
Football
Quarter-finals
Clare v Waterford
Cork v Tipperary
Semi-finals
Clare/Waterford v Kerry
Cork/Tipp v Limerick
Ah jesus.
Will be one dud team in the hurling final so, with all the real action having been played out in early rounds.
The clare crowd will be in the final. Sure the losers of the cork final will be heading in to it again
Ballygunnar v NaP/Kilmallock is the final in reality
Ballygunner arenât firing at the minute and I have a feeling Austin Gleeson will be carried shoulder high off Walsh Park next Sunday.
If BG do find a way though, theyâll have almost two months to sort themselves out and would be a different proposition come November.
Ballyea/Sixmilebridge or Cratloe could find themselves in a final easily enough.
Senior A
Na Piarsaigh- 6
Kilmallock- 4
Doon- 4
Patrickswell- 2
Ahane- 1
Adare- 1
This group will very likely come down to Patrickswell vs Adare in the last round. I canât see Ahane picking up another win. I couldnât see Patrickswell losing to Adare, but I suppose Adare having nothing to lose; thatâs their entire focus now.
Senior B
Ballybrown- 4
Garryspillane- 4
Kildimo/Pallaskenry- 4
South Liberties- 4
Mungret/St. Paulâs- 2
Blackrock- 0
So so tight at the moment in the other group. Only points difference separating 4 teams for two qualification spots. 3 matches between those 4 teams still to be played; Ballybrown have to play Liberties & the Bouncers, and we also have to play the Bouncers in the last round.
So, there is a chance that 6 points will be enough, which would be unusual. 8 points will obviously definitely qualify any team. That means that Mungret potentially have an outside chance if they beat Liberties & Blackrock and manage to turn around the scoring difference.
But if they donât beat Liberties, their match against Blackrock is effectively a relegation play-off. Blackrock pushed Liberties & Garryspillane all the way; they wonât go down without a fight. They stayed up the last two years by making their final match an absolute dogfight, and I wouldnât back against them if it comes down to a similar situation.
Can we state definitively if there is a relegation final or bottom team down?
In a Group llke that with 6 teams you could easily have one team second bottom on 4 points and then they could get done in a Relegation final by someone hammered in every game of the group phase.

I have a hunch that itâs bottom team down unless two teams are level on points.
EDIT- As confirmed by @manbehindthewire
Does that mean score difference and head to head are not used?
Head to head is used alright, but likely to be irrelevant in this yearâs Senior A as Adare and Ahane drew with each other.
If I recall correctly, it was agreed at a county board meeting a few years ago that a team wouldnât be relegated on score difference, hence the playoff scenario as outlined above.
Interesting, so what would happen in a three way scenario, where for example all teams ended on 2 points.
The plural would imply some sort of mini-group.
In which case?
In the case of two or three teams finishing bottom on equal points. The rule above makes no mention of head to head or score difference being used to seperate the bottom teams.
JP will be given a slip of paper containing all the teams that finished level, one team will come back on a slip of paper. They will be relegated
