Limerick GAA 2023 - League champions means nothing now 🐐

Know it’s only Monday but any thoughts on team for Saturday night? Experienced or experimental team?

Cork will throw the kitchen sink at us.

They will for sure, they did last year too in the league when we weren’t even half paced on the day. I’d imagine we’l go strong enough with 9/10 regulars but some experimentation also.

Nicky at no 6? Got to be worth a try.

Meanwhile, a number of players are believed to have been cut from the Limerick panel ahead of their Allianz Hurling League Division 1, Group A opener against Cork this Saturday. None of the 19 players who featured in last year’s All-Ireland final win over Kilkenny are believed to be among those dropped from the squad

Are we to take it that Gillane is part of the squad if all 19 from the AI final are still rhere

He decked a mouthy, rugby playing, Clare lad. He’s been made captain

It’s well known that he’s back training.

He never went away…

Be great to have him. Just hadn’t heard anything concrete in the last couple of weeks

He’s back & he means business.

Manager Shane Kelly has named his U20 football squad for the upcoming Liam Connor Cup & EirGrid Munster championship

Two “Ballybrown” lads and a Knockaderry fella; what is the world coming to?

Be a lovely touch if the Carkies give us a standing ovation when we come out on Saturday. They’re a classy bunch so I expect they will

Hopefully it’s the Weston Warrior and Bog Carroll to draw the names out of the bowl.

Conor O’Grady, Brian O’Grady, Robbie Hanley, Pat Ryan are among those dropped I believe

Is the box office Junior A Hurling Championship seeded?

Actually, are they all unseeded or what’s the story?

Surely there isn’t any seeding in it? It’s a massive toss-up no matter what I’d have thought?

It’d probably be a bit unfair if all 4 semi-finalists from last year ended up in the same group.

There are a handful of very shit teams.

Yeh maybe

Just think the turnover in players etc. would often suggest that a tragic team one year could go on and win the next year or vice-versa a Drom/Broadford type team mightn’t make top 2 in their group next year
