With exactly six b teams they should all be lumped in together really. Getting a second team first round vs last round is a big difference and they should try to smooth that out as best possible.
The Limerick junior A championship is a throwback with 24 teams.

Then you’d be guaranteed 2 of those in the knockouts. Also, the lack of re-grading has impacted the second teams.
Its always great craic. They are trying to split it with years but something always happens that it ends up staying.
Until a few years ago it was done on divisions and it was a mess. Be ten teams in the west and 3 in the east or whatever. Completely lopsided.
It should probably be split though. Although there is generally at least one team that come out of nowhere to go well

Ya many people used to laugh at the 32 team Tipp championship but it was real old school, each year a team would sneak into a semi or quarter final. The same club will never get up senior in the current system.
That regrading rule is a fuck of a thing. I can’t see any logic in it
Motion passed at Convention to split next year, so top 3 in each group in Premier Junior & bottom 3 in Junior.
I won that out, had it wrapped up with a bit to spare.

Was supposed to happen two years ago wasn’t it? I think its the right call. Although this premier junior nonsense drives me mad. Junior A, Junior B, Junior C. Then at least you are sending the right team to the all ireland series. And that goes for intermediate as well. Too many egos don’t want to admit they are junior even though they are 4 tiers down
The junior A is just brilliant. It’s not perfect but this system is miles better than what went before. Regular games and impossible to call a winner every year.
We won the junior A 25 years ago this year. Time flies. Amazing, amazing day. Ran out of drink in the pub that night. Bedlam. John Paul Morrison - the man affectionately nicknamed The Pope - firing us to glory against Newcastle back in Drom.

It’s ruling fellas out of things. I know a lad who was Senior under new management for start of 2022, but only got about 20 mins because his actual grade was Junior… only got the 20 to keep him interested.
If you are good enough go out and get it no more about it…
