Limerick GAA 2023 - League champions means nothing now šŸ

Itā€™s Pat Ryan that I feel sorry for. Colin Ryan and Barry Murphy too.

Blatant hypocrisy but nobody is surprised given the Kyle Hayes thing

All of them were given a chance to return to the panel

Why?

5 Monaleen
3 KP
3 Doon
3 Bruff
3 Adare
3 M/B
2 NaP, 1 Kilmallock, 1 Well

Iā€™m not so sure on that.

Dj Carey got away with so much because of his hobby and look where he ended up.

Thereā€™s countless other gaa players who have gotten away with things because of their ā€œhobbyā€. It isnā€™t right imo and it can be a very slippery slope.

I donā€™t really know the ins and outs of any of these cases nor do I want to know and Iā€™d say most people who think they do are only pretending but if you are getting special treatment because you are good at hurling or football you canā€™t be very well complaining if people arenā€™t happy about it. Thereā€™s nothing worse than having one rule for one person and one rule for another person. It simply isnā€™t right.

Iā€™d have a lot of faith in John kiely to deal with these
Matters correctly because heā€™s a school principal and is dealing with young people all day every day but some of the supporters and fans would seriously want to cop on with some of their behaviour and comments.

I lost a friend a few years ago in an accident and he was the beneficiary of some lenient repercussions because of who he was. I often wonder would he still be here if heā€™d gotten a harsher lesson when he was younger.

Kiely seems to have been less lenient with fringe players. Way of the world I suppose. We wonā€™t change it here.

Itā€™s different in Galway to be fair. If ye were any good the antics, long and unseemly, repeatedly, of a marque forward would be box office too.

But, lookit, way of the world and all that.

Itā€™ll be witness box office.

Different circumstances. One incident when the team were away on a trip representing the county. Pat Ryan was mid championship and just after a big game.

Gilliane, while reacting to whatever goading he was getting was plain stupidā€¦it was off-season, no squad for the year had been named and he was out being a private citizen. He missed out on a trip abroad (which he earned last year) and was left stew to think about his place on the panel.

Good players will always be treated differently but circumstances did fall on his side here also.

The level of it was somewhat different

Boys will be boys.

Only if you believe the lies

Is Pat Ryan out in the cold still? I saw him interviewed on OTB last week and thought he was speaking a bit openly for a lad whoā€™d potentially be on the Limerick panel. Mentioned Tippā€™s desire for goals before they went for the jugular 4 times against Waterford. A good shout to be fair to him.

Brought back into the panel pre Christmas. Trained and played in the Munster league thingy. When the final cut wass made he was one of 6 to lose out. So just lost out to younger talent coming through.

@thelimericks will find a way to explain it away anyway

Letā€™s just call it, ā€œhis Linekerā€ moment

To be honest he is probably done. 28, hard to see him making the panel again with current management.

The Mackey Stand.
Sorted.

Might warm the place up for a bit as well.
