Shane O’Brien is no loss, very lucky to be a starter if he still is

He’d be better than o dailaigh

Anyone who doesn’t rate the Bull very highly doesn’t have a rashers about the game.

I think it’s a mistake not letting him start like last years munster final.

Peter Casey would have been a better impact sub. Let the bull in on Damien Cahalane.

Hopefully he makes a big impact when he comes on.

He gets in gillanes way I think a little. He’s constantly cutting off runs.

It’s probably a case of one of them for now anyway.

As much as you might be right I think he should’ve been let loose on cahalane from the start, would tear him to shreds

O’Connor will give Cahalane a different kind of headache and has earned his place on merit. He is better closer to goal than in the half forward line and is the correct choice for Sunday.

O’Brien is a fine young hurler but struggles with bending to control and gather low ball. He’s very good if he gets it at chest or head height but he hasn’t sufficiently developed the aforementioned aspect of his game. If Gillane gets the same type of ball it’s goodnight.

I don’t buy this really. It’s something kinnerk would have fixed pretty sharpish.

I’d have faith in the management anyway.

In 2018 it was same with Flanagan and dowling.

You didn’t see back then either.

I don’t get why O’Connor seems to be underappreciated in some quarters.

Yeah but you often make things up.

I wouldn’t say he’s underappreciated - he’s a very good young player. I just don’t trust him yet in the trenches of the half forward line and think he is far more effective inside. He was notably marked absent when the fat was in the fire in the opening round robin game but bounced back well in Ennis, albeit Clare were septic.

I think we also need to have an eye on future - the bull needs to be developed in games like this, not sitting out the second munster final in a row

He’s got size, power and is quick over the first 10 yards. We should be coaching him to drop the shoulder and really take on his man (like he did for the goal against Tipp in c’ship last season, or against Cork in the league)

He destroyed Cleary and Mcinerney with the right ball in Ennis, and Cahalane was really struggling with him until ball dried up.

I’d agree with this. I think we need another puckout option alongside Hego.
The last 3 games were very different to round 1.
I think he’s worth his place inside beside the bull and Gillane.

Speaking of the future - does anyone know if Daragh Langan is still injured. He had a very good league imo - and has all the attributes to make the team next year. Hope he can find his way into the 26 soon.

Interesting to see WOD call him out as fastest player on panel. I think he’s going to have a bright future.

It’s a munster final, it’s for winning not developing players ffs.

You know it’s possible to do both

In the marginal calls I’d give it to the younger players (Bull over Casey)
