Limerick GAA 2026

Goals are vital. We just dont get enough… The Cork collapse aided tipp but point taken.

@glasagusban also has a valid point, the game of rubby suited Cork far more last year. Fair play to them that they adapted to the ref far better, but what they are allowed get away, particularly against Limerick, is a head scrather. There seems to be a subconscious plucky underdog stance from refs (and media) towards Cork that allows them get away with murder. Cian Lynch in particular had an amount of filth his way second half in the MF and zero protection from the ref. He was literally assaulted repeatedly. While Limerick play on the edge, they were never filthy but get reffed completely different to everyone else. It’s frustrating that our success is being used against us. Seeing Cork players repeatedly kick Limerick players who were on the ground and the ref looking away says a lot about the way both are treated.

Hegarty a prime example, got a reputation based on a few late belts and refs decided that he was fair game from then on.

Saturday is a perfect game for trying new stuff
(Fitz at 4, CON at 5, Adam at 15)

   Quaid

Finn Morrissey Fitzgerald
CON Hayes Coughlan

WOD Lynch

Hego Reidy Tom
Casey Bull English

I’d give Gillane and AOC the night off.

Hegarty has been a quieter boy to be fair since he was sent off v Waterford in 2023.

That was a real dark day for Hurling with the thuggery on display from Limerick.

They should have finished with about 9 men.

He got such a reputation that a Clare lad only needed to come near him and it knocked him down rolling on the ground

He wins an amount of frees but nowhere near as many as he should for the blackguarding he gets. The Aidan O’Shea effect whereby refs allow lads to hold and foul and hang out of hego because he’d walk over them otherwise.

Give gillane the night off alright, AOC needs all these tests and to keep being backed in them.

Was watching the Freshers final last night, Fitzgerald missed out through injury. Doubt he’ll be involved at the weekend.

Hego generally has to carry the man fouling him on his back for about 20 yards before the ref grudgingly raises the arm

Great day, we laid down a marker and went on to win the 4 in a row. Easy work.

I could count as many belts given to hegarty as he has given himself. One of the most blackguarded players this game has seen.

2022 v Clare was a new low for simulation. I see the same fella was crying to Woolly recently about the backlash from it

Saturday is a day to show them nothing. It’s all about c’ship in April

One guy who is worth a game is Darragh Langan - surprised they haven’t blooded him yet.

Watching the Offaly game which is now online -

Adam English was very good at 15 coming out the field. And Bull was at 14.

Colin Coughlan and Byrnes were poor - hard to see us get away with both of them in the one line.

Matthew Fitz was very good again - will put pressure on for the 4 jersey

Or he may not be seen during Munster

He might have a better chance of taking the 5 jersey

Open stand sold out too!

The scan of his hamstring thst was released to the far right telegram group suggests he won’t be taking any jersey for a while

I’m really surprised neither Cathal ONeill or David Ready has been given a go at 6 or even 5, but especially 6. Cathal has played there the odd day in the last few years. Reidy played schools back there and is very natural on the ball. Time running out now though.
