I believe the Dow was dropped mainly due to work rate v waterford and Clare defensively. The ball was coming out a little too easy for managements liking. Graeme mul defense stats have been off the charts all season. Iād severely doubt heāll be dropped.
Itās not completely off the wall but I think theyāll keep Casey in reserve.
Iāll be surprised if the team isnāt the following.
Quaid.
English, Richie, Finn
Byrnes, Hannon, D Morrissey
Lynch & DOD
Hegarty, Hayes, T Morrissey
Gillane, Flanagan, Mul.
Tough on Mike Casey who has done little wrong but they might plump for experience especially with Hogan and Fennelly both starting.
What has he scored in the last 2 games - 1 point? Grand lad but in any other county heād be gone. Youāll have the same west Limerick Dullards on here rabting and raving about his workrate. Its hurlers we need not site labourers
Peter Casey has to start. Heās a real scoring threat and he is from the City.
In fairness he was involved in a good few scores on Saturday night. But it was a nothing game and you couldnāt read much into it either way.
Against Galway in the league and with 14 men in Cork his scores dug us out of holes. Was it 0-05 from play in both matches, never mind frees won and assists. Heās one lad Iād have no worries about.
You clearly havenāt a fucking notion about hurling. Dropping forwards due to two quiet games is nonsensical. Youād never build any forward unit. Youlll rarely ever have more than 3 forwards fire on any given day. The important bit is that all six work and fight for every ball even if it isnāt breaking them.
Agreed.
Youād be surprised if that wasnāt the starting 15.
The Father said that Flanaganās touch wasnāt great on Saturday. Was this the case @dodgy_keeper ?
If big Walter is out KK will more than likely put Fennelly at 14 and he will be looking to set the record straight if itās Richie Mc he faces again after being pocketed by him in Nowlan park,Hannon will face his biggest test at CB TJ Reid will be targeted early and often in the air and he will need support on any loose breaks from our midfield.Last year our HF line didnāt have the physicality to turn over the KK backs once they gained possession and it will be very interesting to see how much improvement they have made since.
Nobodyās touch was great Saturday. It was like playing on a concretwide for fuck sake. Took lads three or four attempts to rise the ball on places
Hayes and dod will be dealing with TJ Reid.
I didnāt think it was particularly bad but once the second goal went in the game was over so not a match to place much emphasis on.
Fennelly has great pace and could roast Richie if he got the right ball. Last year Kilkenny gave him no chance, bating aimless ball on top of Richie. It was similar yesterday, utter crap.
If they do the same, Richie will have a field day. If they move it into space to utilise Fennellyās pace, we may have a problem.
Dropping a forward for two quiet games nonsensical? We are in a championship season of a max 8 games kid not a 40 game season. Its shit or get off the po time. Plently of lads on the sideline havent gotten the chance Flanagan has. Poor management to keep selecting lads that have quite games. If you go back to ladt year I was impresded by Flanagan on the U25ās but his form has dipped and we cant afford that. He will be back again next year
A win against KK would do wonders for this teams development and would provide the perfect antidote to the Clare game.We need to get to Croke park once you make the last four you are in it to win it no room for sob stories and excuses they are too big,too strong, too cute,Cork are Cork,Galway are monsters and canāt be beat. Roll the fucking dice and see what happens.
Iād personally go with Casey, Dowling, Gillane. - We will need lads that have a ruthless scoring streak about them.
Youāre a pure mad cunt
Galway showed how to deal with Padraig Walsh yesterday. Big man edge of the square and break the ball. Walsh perfers a roving full forward. He would ate young Flanagan. But youāll have lads from non hurling areas on here ranting and raving because his ould fella was a great lad
It wasnt great but not the worst. The pitch for next week will be similar. Surprissed Pat Simon Ryan didnt get a run. Iād expect him to get at least 20miins against Killkenny when they are tiring.
