Iâve to laugh at this notion of Hegarty and Hayes not being scoring forwards, from my recollection the 2 boys pick off a few scores in every game allied to their huge work rate. Youâd swear they never scored

Hayes and Hegarty are workers rather than natural scoring forwards . They will chip in with scores and wides too . They are needed based on the style of game we play .

their role on this team means that they are back around their own 65 more than up in the forwards. Of course they will score they are inter county hurlers. They are automatic on the team at the moment but I cant imagine them as free scoring forwards. We are largely playing a game that is the same game plan as John Allen with 2 half fowards playing deep and leaving space inside while compressing the space in midfield. Hayes and Hegarty are ideal with DOD and Lynch the dogs picking up the breaking ball
