Plus, Nap have had a proper break from the Sunday final. Very shrewd by the county board, excellent decision to not flog the duals.
I think we’d have about 11 starters tomorrow night from the side that started in the Junior A on Sunday.
Mad bastards …
Soccer and GAA cant really compared on the physical stakes ---- We all know I havent swung a hurl since I was 10 so i’ll leave that to the experts like @Breaking_my_balls… The physical hits in football / GAA leave their mark , same with rugger- cant imagine what the body would be like after a county final or big championship game but lads must be broke up. Soccer is probably far more taxing on the joints/ muscles I find- again, depends on the person and position… but 90 mins is tough going if you;re putting yourself about and i think you put the body into more unnatural positions in soccer - deffo more twisting, turning and of course sliding and jumping it’s a lot over 90 mins… I used to be broke up after soccer, but I always covered ground to make up for lack of skill .
Still, a bit of apples and oranges - either way - I dont think you’d play three soccer cup finals or semi finals in a week - so i’ll give that cunt @Raylan the slight nod here over @EstebanSexface who has lived in East Cork for too long.
Sure every match is a cup final to the gah lads and they want a couple of weeks to prepare mentally, physically and spiritually for all of them
You’re right kid - fuck Raylan.
As for the physical hits in gaelic football, its almost all upper body stuff. Your legs would be in tatters after a soccer match
It’s a bizarre enough place at times but reading over that bates shit anyway!
I knew you’d love it.
The first time I ever played senior football championship I started with mucky legs as I had been playing soccer that morning and hadn’t time for a shower.
I’ve tried to read a few more posts but I don’t understand, I wouldn’t consider either game more physically demanding, you used to get more rest In Gah as a half forward but that position has become more demanding in recent years,
Basketball is probably the most physically demanding game I’ve played, you’d be fucked during and after if you were on the court most of the time,
Mucky legs
I played a game of 11 aside Monday and recorded 6k in the hour… Played this evening again and only 4.2k… legs gone. I think that ends the argument
There isnt much come back to science and facts… Someone had to go out and test the data or it could have ripped this place apart.
A man in his mid forties should limit it to once a week
Mid !!! … Mid! You scamp…
I’d have expected ballysteen to be favorites there not 15/8 but is their star man definitely out?
He’s just another cog in the machine now
Obviously class but only got 1 point from play last weekend, out of 14. Forwards have been rejigged and it’s working well. You’d obviously rather have him but if he’s out it’s not the end of the world and I still think the price is very wrong.
So there’s a chance he plays?
