Heās had his chances mate, they know exactly what he can do and it hasnāt been deemed good enough I suppose.
Itās harsh on him. He was outstanding for Murroe/Boher this year and has certainly showed better recent form than an awful lot picked ahead of him.
He was blackguarded by the previous management and, whilst I accept that heās had chances, how many more chances are the likes of Graeme Mulcahy, Kevin Downes & David Reidy going to get? Tobin is a superior forward to all of them.
I like him, heās my kind of player, but Iād disagree a bit.
He hasnāt had many good championship days although I remember him scoring well in the GG one day, similar to Mulcahy who Iād rate a little higher.
I havenāt much of an idea about Reidy but Downes is an absolutely huge player for Limerick, his form says an awful lot in how far or well they go.
I just think that Tobin wonāt get much chances, Kiely and co know what he can do but itās not what they need, Iād love to be wrong
Agree 100% with @Elvis_Brandenberg_Kr on Tobin.
Heās a better forward than more than half a dozen of the forwards on the current panel. Gutsy little fucker too whoāll fight for the ball he has no right to win. Not many of the remaining options there at the moment you can say that about.
I would have presumed the reason Tobin isnāt there is because he rejected a call-up.
Tobins problem is that he is not quick enough for corner forward and his best position is centre forward but he wonāt be played there at inter county level
Tobin might be better than some of the lads there but Tobin has already proven he isnāt good enough at this level while the others despite being worse hurlers maybe are more suited to intercounty hurling
Weāre back to Downes again lord save us
Limerick are class
They entertaining alright
Well he is about 6 foot 7. That is as far as it goes however.
They bigging up Downes since 2010
He didnāt debut until 2011
Mul hasnāt got a decent ball supply ever.
In fairness, with Limerick whactics, theyād be well served with all the forwards being six foot seven.
Still too small
I would have presumed the reason Tobin isnāt there is because he rejected a call-up.
Think so.
They bigging up Downes since 2010
Nobody has ever really bigged him up in a few years now, heās been unlucky with a few injuries though and his form while playing hasnāt been great. But heās got a lot to offer that nobody else has shown in recent years and his form for NaP has been decent even if his shooting could do with a bit of work.
My point is that Limerick will be a better team with him on form, they wonāt trouble the big guns this year either way though.
