Been a while since we had four starters on the UL football team Iā€™d say

If I was a contrary bolloix I might suggest that the other 11 must be fuckin superstars to carry the 4 Limerick Lads.

LOLZ.

We should be beating Wexford comfortably enough tomorrow night really. We might have struggled against them last year, but if we are actually taking the league seriously this year, itā€™s a game that we should be winning. Wexford were poor last year, well worse than us even and we look as if we are a bit fitter & stronger than this time last year. The injection of the U-21 winning players, along with McDonald missing for them should help too.

Hopefully itā€™ll be a decent game, Iā€™d be hoping we win by about 6 tbh.

Team to be named at 9- be interesting to see the half-back line in particular. Iā€™d like to see Reidy start and on free-taking duties.

Reidy is a very shakey free taker and is often not even on them for his club. Let a lad settle into the team before putting him on frees.

Agreed.

The make up of the half back line is the most pertinent for me.

Has to give Byrnes a go at number 6, Iā€™d bring Gavin alongside him on one wing, itā€™s a bit of a lottery for the other then. Plenty of options which is a good complaint.

Iā€™m sickened for Sean Finn though, looked very promising during the Munster League at corner back.

If Tobin starts, which is doubtful Iā€™d have him on them inside the 65, most accurate of the rest when Dowling isnā€™t available imo.

Did Byrnes have much of a minor career for Limerick at 6? The only game heā€™s played at 6 for Limerick heā€™s been roasted and sent off bar a few minutes versus tipp in the 21 in 2015.

Tobinā€™s a fine free-taker, but I donā€™t expect him to start. Iā€™d just prefer to see how Hannon goes without the responsibility of the frees.

Agreed canā€™t understand why youā€™d put Reidy on them. Last thing you want is a newbie missing a couple and being enievabltely subbed off. Iā€™d let Gavin at them if not Tobin.

He was good in the Limerick senior club championship ergo he will be a colossus for the senior intercounty team irrespective of previous experience.

Hannon always takes them ahead of Reidy for Mary I.

Plenty of options, yeah, but how many of them would you be confident of making a strong line, particularly come Championship?

Hickey wasnā€™t great in the matches Iā€™ve seen so far this year, and was poor last year. Paudie Oā€™Brien isnā€™t a wing-back. Iā€™m not sure itā€™s the best position of Condon, Seanie Oā€™Brien either. We know what Wayne can do, but are we not looking for a bit more by now? Then youā€™ve got three lads from the 21s last year, all inexperienced but we probably need at least one, if not two, to step up.

In the biggest game against na piarsigh he was fairly average frees aside.

He was hardly playing against an intercounty (sort of) forward that day by any chance?

Iā€™d still prefer Hannon to be kept off them for Limerick.

Iā€™ll be honest with you, wouldnā€™t reckon itā€™s a popular choice but if Wayne could get back his form from a few years ago and let the ball go earlier, Iā€™d have him number 5.

His still young enough just coming upto or at 30. His physicality and honesty Iā€™ve always been a fan of, but never at 6.

Thatā€™s bizarre.

Rumours of Clare training at 4:30 in the morning this week, the fuck is that about?
