At least his playing in his best position mate, did get us the winning point last year in the championship against Clare. I’ve good time for him.

Harsh to say we can kiss promotion goodbye completely due to his inclusion in the team.

I was harsh on John Fitz last week, and tbf to him, he was very very good against Laois. He did things I didn’t think he could do.

But Laois were really really shit, John Fitz is not an intercounty midfielder for a match against a team like Laois. Jim-Bob, Pat Ryan, O’Donovan or even Paudie O’Brien should be there.

Seanie O’Brien probably should be at wing-back, dropping Hickey might even push him on to better things. But he’s played poorly. Dan Morrissey is probably the best of the rest, at least it’s not Paudie out of position again. I thought Wayne might get the nod.

Space in behind Byrnes could be a worry as Clare do have a lot of pace. But the forward line does look good on paper, at least.

I’ve had this row with Adare lads for the last two years but I just think he is a very good club hurler. Too much of a step up for him playing intercounty.

I’ll be the first on here on Sunday to eat humble pie if needs be.
