Limerick GAA - All-Ireland senior hurling champions 2018

Not sure. Eoin Fitzgbbon who has played football with Limerick is a cousin alright.

Of Richieā€™s, that is.

Richieā€™s mother is Fitzgibbon from Freemount isnā€™t she? If so heā€™s related to Mike Fitzgibbon of Feohanagh too

Again, Iā€™m not sure. I know that the two boys are cousins is all.

Is this limerick gaa or Irish genealogy ??

Neither. Itā€™s the abortion thread

Knowing whoā€™s mother is who and where sheā€™s from and therefore who heā€™d be cousins with is as much a GAA tradition as ā€œhats, scarves and headbands there ladsā€

The bloodlines are important in faction fighting.

Like when the Cork and Kerry Sullivans intermarried and, to this day, the cry of ā€œShove it into 'em boy and remember your motherā€™s peopleā€ can still be heard on Munster football final day.

On the topic of GAA family trees it was fantastic to see sons of a couple of former great servants involved with the minor team at the weekend.

You canā€™t beat breeding.

You must be joking us, Hickey was woeful in the first half, came into it a bit in the second to be fair to him but still got caught for the goal.

Iā€™d have no issues about them lads being under the age of 23. What difference does it make? They arenā€™t green either they all have experience now in the championship and are well able for it I think.

Inter County Cousins

Shane Oā€™Donnell and Conor Whelan
Richie English and Darragh Fitzgibbon
Limerick Morans and Tipp Kellys

Any more?

Barry Nash & Anthony Nash.

Zing!

Yep, Mike Fitz is a cousin of both. Another hardy fucker.

His father is a lunatic.

@mac were you aware of this?

Was there a connection between John Galvin and Paul Galvin? Both from Lixnaw/Finugue stock

Nope.

Sheamus Hickey.
Not even related to a hurler.
