Limerick GAA - We get knocked down 🐐

GOM, G Mul, I thought Robbie Egan was very impressive, great man to catch a ball and he was playing well in first half when some were struggling a bit. Paudie O Brien. O Loughlin. Eoin Ryan worth a look as well. Barry Hennessey a good keeper too.

You are being hard on yourself there!!!

I dont think Richie McCarthy ever played with Kilmallock. I dont think Nickie Quaid ever played with them either. Thomas Quaid won a minor with them in 04 allright and Damien Moloney was also on that team

would damien be anything to Val who forum members know from our Poll?

I remember Quaid playing in goals vs Cork around 87 when Fenton beat him from 45 yards, he wasnt still playing in 2004

I never understood why Eoin Ryan wasn’t given a go with Limerick, correct me if I’m wrong but I think he has only ever played 1 NHL game?

Saw O’ Loughlin 2 years ago against Thurles Sars and he coped very well with Lar, definitely an option in the full back line. I would prob go with a Riche Mac, O’ Loughlin, Condon full back line. Anyone care to discuss Hannon at 6 for Limerick, best player by miles on the pitch in the final

Too busy dreaming of a Limerick Captain on the steps of the Hogan Stand

as long as he isn’t from Kilmallock or one of the Quaids no doubt

Hannon was MOTM and deservedly so on Sunday as a half forward. Hannon was not MOTM against Tipperary in the Under 21 when playing at 6. I think its something that needs a proper trial though before the merits can be fully considered or not.

The positioning of Hannon is something that Oliver Mann thinks very strongly about.
We really need to know what role he will have next year before we can contemplate where Hannon will play as there is an agenda at work here

Thomas Quaid is a son of the late Tommy RIP who played against Cork in 1987. Thomas came on against Kilkenny in the All Ireland Quarter Final this year and scored a great point from the sideline.

Ah he got a few games one year. Too slow.

SLR, I was thinking of getting your book. As a preview, could you give me a 3 point summary on why the All-Ireland U21 winning sides never amounted to anything?

I can see your point as regards Hannon being more comfortable in the half forward line right now but in the long term I think it would be advisable to develop him as a No. 6. I would always argue that the centre back is the anchor point of any team and it does take time to grow into that position. Not only does it require bucketloads of pure hurling and positioning sense but physical attributes are also a must - Hannon ticks all those boxes. Dodge despite coping reasonably well last year was always going to be a stopgap and a more permanent replacement must be found. If you look at successful teams over the past few years you can always name their centre back without too much thought - Cork/Ronan Curran, KK/Hogan, even Waterfod had Ken McGrath and recently Brick Walsh. It may take time but Hannon must be allowed to make that position his own even if it is to the detriment of other areas of the pitch

This site now seems to be infested with Limerick CB hacks who will do everything they are told in the hope of getting a few tickets. Thankfully I turned my back to you gimps a long time ago but unfortunately as long as the apologists are around Limerick will never rise up. In fact I would go so far as to say that I hope Limerick stays in the doldrums and that rejuvinated LFC coupled with Muuunster thugby takes over. Then and only then will the clowns in the Gaelic Grounds with their solicitors letters be fecked out on their ears. But alas, it will be too late.

Eoin Ryan was in there under Richie, and again under Donal O’Grady. When compared to the chances others have got, he might be forgiven for thinking he should have got more of a chance.

Here are a few extracts. I thought I had the Under 21s stuff there as well

SLR,
What role have the Christian Brothers played in Limerick GAA and their impact on the lives of people from the 1950’s to the present day?

I already have one thesis to do in real life so I aint writing another thesis for here

Is it all interviews, Slr?

Ya almost exclusively interviews with a bit of narration from me to introduce or summarise.
