Lionel Andres Messi

Barcelona should have bought Mahrez. He would have been the best possible replacement for Xavi, not as good but close. Absolutely a Barcelona-type player.

What?

Mahrez is a right winger though. You feel he could repositioned as a central midfielder/playmaker? Is Frenkie De Jong a write-off now? A year ago everyone was hyping him up.

He says as he bases an entire article on it

I’m not sure that dignified a response

He based the article on what he saw on the pitch. Early isn’t one for going on about having insider knowledge because he doesn’t

We need to hear what Graham Hunter has to say boys

Thiago was surely xavis replacement.

He’s too good for any English team, they’ll destroy the little genius- kick him to pieces

What a player.

RIP.

The more and more you read up on this deal messi comes across as a complete cunt. When you compare the loyalty the likes of totti had to Roma to messi it’s really sad too. That first goal for Barca when he jumps on Ronaldinhos back is unreal. One of the great moments.

Various sports stars around the world are taking wage cuts and messi wants an increase from city. I think Tom Brady took numerous cuts to allow the patriots remain competitive.

You’d think after everything Barcelona have done for messi and his family he’d stay and lead the likes of pedri and fati for a few seasons. Instead he wants to be allowed to walk away for free.

He’s gotten numerous managers sacked and apparently was the driving force behind Pjanic signing as well.

It’s a really sad ending.

His father and the hangers on are driving this.

The best about him is his wife :heart_eyes:

Nothing lasts forever. Barca need to rebuild, the place is a mess, he’s maybe two years left in his career to win anything. Barca would be better off taking a few bob for him and reinvesting. His wages alone off the books would steady the ship. Apparently their finances are in tatters

He’s trying to get away for free though.

I find this a bit of a misnomer. It isn’t like he has been starved of success throughout his career. Sure he could go to another side who are in better shape to win a champ league but is adding another CL medal going to really increase his standing in the game further than it already is? If he does leave and ends up winning one it is likely he will not be as integral part of that side as he was in his previous victories.

I agree to an extent. But why waste two years at the same time. According to that ape Sid Lowe who pretends he has intimate knowledge of the inner workings of Barcelona* Messi wants one more CL and knows he won’t get it there. He’s already wasted a few seasons with them

*I know you can’t believe a word he says

If Messi really wanted to go one step further he should stay at Barca and put as much energy as he can into being right and winning a World Cup in 2022.

He’s given them 16 years - the man is entitled to try something new before he retires ffs.
