Still two all. Eight to go. El Zhar and Babel on. May be the final nail in the Robbie Keane affair today.
Another slip up at home. League Champions dont draw 3 at home in a row.
Liverpool will always fade away, piss poor chokers
Van Persie is after scoring a screamer to put the gunners one nil up…
Liverpool’s lack of ambition when Arsenal went down to 10 men was disappointing for me as a neutral. That’s why I don’t tend to enjoy watching them play as they often set out to stifle and negate the opposition. Leaving 6 players back on Van Persie and whoever was coming from deep to support him was quite fearful.
Arsenal were there for the taking but it was a good point for Liverpool after they went behind. Some goal by Robbie.
I was impressed with the young lad Insua for them at left back today…
Didn’t see the game today but caught the highlights and it seemed like a game Liverpool could have won.
Good to see Giles rip into Wenger for being a whinger - Christ almighty he is unreal.
Yeah Liverpool could have won, if they’d had the guile to create a winner, but they didn’t / don’t. Wenger is some arsehole, instead of giving out about what was in fairness a harsh second yellow, he should be more worried about the total lack of any semblence of collective discipline (in fairness, it probably follows from the lack of leadership which he is directly responsible for, for failing to replace Vieira) in his team.
Been a fan of his for a while alright. He’s smashing on the ball. He played a lovely little dink cross at one stage, not sure who connected with the header, possibly Kuyt but yeah he’s a prospect.
Think that was El Zahr and he went very close alright. Impressed yesterday and in another game he played recently. It’s about time some of Rafa’s youngsters started to make an impression though.
How close was Agger’s shot yesterday? Cracking left foot on him

Was off my stool for that one. Was shouting hit, hit it and then get in. Thought it was in, alas not to be. What were anyone’s thoughts on the Adebayor sending off? Thought it was very, very harsh but know Farmer disagrees.
I wuldn’t say it was harsh but I have seen lads get away with a lot worse…Once he got booked for something similar, he had to go the second time…
Fair play to young robbie…2 more goals yesterday…
Liverpool just routed Newcastle there. It finished 5-1 despite Shay Given being outstanding. It was a bit of a statement of intent ahead of the second half of the season and they were very entertaining too.
Pool are 10 ahead of United with 3 games played more. It depends if United could get it back to one point they would feel the pressure with the Treble Champions of 2008 breathing down their neck. I still think them draws against Hull, Fulham and West Ham could cost them the league.
Could quite easily have been 10 but for some superb goalkeeping by Given. Liverpool played lovely football against Newcastle and against Bolton, it’s great to see. I think Insua and Benayoun getting game time is quite key to it. Both of them are proper footballers, they’re slick passers with a good touch. Benayoun especially probably won’t get the credit he deserves but he’s very nimble and clever, more of an Arsenal player you might say. He tends to pick the right option most of the time and when compared to the likes of Pennant and Babel he’s certainly worth his place. Slightly concerned about Insua’s defending but he’ll learn. Even Kuyt’s hold-up play isn’t that bad at the moment.
Strange decision to rest Keane and thought he should have come on for Gerrard around the hour mark. Thought Babel really highlighted his limitations too - not sure he’ll ever be good enough.
the positive thing for LFC is that they are top of the league while not playing brilliantly up to recently & they seem to be coming into form now-
Agreed. With Torres to come back it’s very encouraging indeed.
Sometimes their ‘rotation’ players haven’t looked up to standard and it’s cost them when they rested players but lads like Lucas were very good today. The fact he left out the three main players from the win against Bolton (Keane, Alonso and Riera) and they won convincingly suggests the squad depth is better than before too.
