I’m very surprised by this move tbh. Thought he’d still feel like he had something left to give as club captain and a valued member of the squad. Maybe he wasn’t given assurances about gametime for the upcoming season.
I wouldn’t say it’s a done deal yet though. I have an inkling that Romano is a bit of a bluffer. He was trying to say that the Saudis wanted him for free earlier when he clearly has two years left on his deal. They’d definitely acquire more than £10 million off the Saudis too. His tweet was a bit all over the shop tbh.
