Have they fired yet man Slot yet?
Bizarre it’s taking them so long,

I came home from GAA to 100+ messages in the side group. Great collegiality in there.

Liverpool will stumble into next seasons Champions League in spite of themselves. Relying on Man City to get a result against Bournemouth though.

They say Slot is easy to control by Hughes and the other fella and that’s why he might stay.

Isak, Frimpong and Kerkez may as well have each picked up a firearm and shit him in the head as they’ve fucking killed him.

Slott could be a man for City.

Mick Edwards and Dick Hughes yeah. Klopp made Edward’s reputation. Before Klopp arrived and turned every signing into gold Edwards was part of the much ridiculed transfer committee. I wouldn’t be a sacking man at all but the allure of Xabi Alonso is very strong. Although the football wouldn’t be anywhere near as heavy metal as Klopp’s.

You’ve got to go Alonso. He could end up at Chelsea otherwise which is as good a reason as any.

If they’re stuck with these guys, 3-4-3 for a year might work too.

Alonso had his chance to manage Liverpool and he turned it down.

He wasn’t long dropping his knickers for Real Madrid though.

Carraher all but confirmed slott will be in charge of Liverpool again next season

Different summers to be fair. Liverpool were linked with him in 2024, he took the Madrid job in 25’. He’s Spanish too so presumably it would’ve been more idyllic from a family perspective. I’d take him, with no fear of him going near Madrid again there’s no real upward move for him that you’d be afraid he’d leave for. I remember talk of Rafa turning down Real’s advances circa 2005 when they were chopping and changing managers.

Alonso is Basque so possibly dislikes Madrid on some level despite playing for them. I’d say it was working with that group of players but he really caught them at the wrong time. If you could jettison the other stars and just have MBappe, Bellingham and Trent, it would be a great gig.

They’d be better off finishing sixth and getting rid of him.

You’re talking rot now.

Alonso’s style is based on players working their bollix off and very few of the first team squad at Madrid are minded to do that

Liverpool need to back the manager

I wouldn’t blame Alonso at all for wanting to stay at Leverkusen with a team he’d won the league with and see how he could fare in ther Champions League with them.

You’d drop your knickers for Madrid too.

If Alonso* is not Liverpool manager in a month’s time, Liverpool are looking into the abyss.

*Or Klopp

You’d get away with 1 or 2, there’s about 7 of them there. If you’d caught Trent at another time in his career, he would be more diligent. Bellingham too.

Likes of Guler, Mastuano, Vini will never run hard and he was landed with all these guys.

He annoyed them initially wanting to play 3 centre backs so maybe that played into it.

It’s back to the classic galacticos era. Too many egos.

And his solution is to hire Mourinho possibly the only man in the sport with a bigger ego than all of them.

Maybe that works. Maybe he out cunts the lot of them.

Good thing about Mourinho is that his teams don’t press. He will also probably force Vini out.

I’m very intrigued by it, this is the first time since Chelsea second time around where he can have no complaints about player quality. His United time doesn’t actually read that badly.

Chelsea might be a good move for Alonso, he can do the 3-at-the-back thing he did at Leverkusen and expectations have gone through the floor there depite them still having some useful players

He’s a disgrace to the Basque community rocking up at two Royalist clubs in a row if it comes to pass

Still one of the top 3 Spanish midfielders of his era however
