Bohs mauling Sligo - big travelling support

Sligo are absolute muck tonight

Have to agree
When though it’s hard on the kids it’s mostly the bloody parents pushing them ( I did for a while)

Roddy Collins seems to have badly rattled James McClean by predicting he’d be a very poor signing in a piece before the start of the season. Called him an athlete rather than a footballer & said he’d be found out now he’s slowing down physically as there’s no football in him, said he was a bit part player in the Championship by the end & claimed Derry only signed his brother on his say so & that it undermined the manager etc. Basically went full bingo in the criticism stakes &, as ever, McClean takes the bait.

He has been absolutely hopping on social media for over a week & is this morning posting his stat lines from Friday night with red marker highlighting them. It reminds me of Adrian ā€œPantherā€ Flynn tweeting local journalists when he was unhappy with bogball player ratings for Wexford games. Tagging Alan Brogan in the tweets amused me…I was man marking @AlanBrogan, held him scoreless, scored a point myself & still only got given a 6!ā€

between Rovers fans calling him an orange bastard & roddy rattling him big James is having a rough old time of it playing in a League not full of footix

In fairness, rattling mcclean is easier than taking candy from a baby. You’d wonder how he takes instructions from his manager without having a full on meltdown.

I believe Panther even had an account on the Hoganstand forum at that time

Remember hearing a story doing the rounds when roddy was managing Derry and had signed his son . McLean was home from England and came down to training to chat to his mates, words were exchanged with Collins jnr. And McLean squared up to him and got sparked . , not sure how true it was :man_shrugging:

Cleansie seems to be the type of fella that needs to always have at least one detractor at all times to stay motivated. Looking forward to trying to wind him up myself in person.

Fuck it says I, gonna go to the Louth derby tonight.

Only on the basis I have been to Drogheda’s ground and am wanting to tick off Oriel.

Surprised to read that a starting Ireland U17 defender from last years World Cup (Ryan Butler) only came on for 8 minutes in last weeks victory away at Cobh. Presumed an international underage star would walk into a First Division team. Perhaps minding him a bit as he’s doing the LC and still quite young.

He played games last year I’m nearly sure.

He did yeah but not every game. I’d have assumed he’d be a key player.

Needs time. Harnett is a year or two older and isn’t starting much either.

Honest to God, I’ve never seen as many Public Order Guards in my life…

RC is a fuckin muppet

Keena and Mata both out injured for the Super Saints

Hes still very young and raw. Got sent off for a silly tackle against cobh and had a run of games picking up yellows for silly stuff. The irish games will have helped him develop. He visited 5 clubs in england for trials in off season so he might end up over there in a year or 2.
