Youâre forgetting the fact that duffer is BOX OFFICE
Pats lead 1-0 at the half time
Even first half, Pats most of ball without troubling keeper too much untilâŚâŚâŚBrandon âBrandoâ Kavanagh âfired homeâ a goal just before half time
Derry donât look like a team a few games from a potential double. Would expect more from them in second and Hoban to come on.
Itâs like Galatasaray down there in Richmond Park
I thought the guards were going to evacuate ground at one stage it was that hostile
Iâve just realised that the All-Stars is clashing with the final night of the LOI next Friday. A major clash for Irish sports fans.
Thatâs a cracker from Drogheda. Nervy Shels again now.
The Drogs are purring. Serious finish
Indeed they do. Hon Shels!
Iâm trying to think of a game where both teams played themselves out of contention for a league title.
Actually Iâve thought of one. Portadown v Glenavon April 30th, 1994. A win would have given either the Smirnoff Irish League title but a draw let Linfield nip in to win it.
But tonight wasnât one, because the speeding Patâs train just ran out of railroad like that train in that film I canât remember the name of where it ploughed through the platform of a Chicago railway terminal.
How Derry were ever in contention nobody knows. Nobody will wonder how Derry, like Elvis, threw it all away. No point in asking, the answer is nobody cares.
Patâs will win this league by 20 points next year.
Next season will be a belter, derry with a proper manager, Rovers will replensish their ageing squad with the euro money, shels investor might chase the european dream and buy a few players, a resurgent pats, cork back in the league
Its the greatest league in the world
We will have something to say in the wesht as well
Pat Hickey signing with Shamrock Rovers next year will be a massive blow. Clarke is retiring altogether.

Canât see Shels winning in Derry
Duff has managed to make Shels the must disliked team amongst LOI people, which is some achievement considering Bohs are in the league
Could end been an amazing year for the Tallaght franchise, a five in a row and getting through to knock stage in Europe
Bossman Steo and Pats will have their work cut out next year
Derry wonât want Rovers winning another one would be my guess. Would they be happy to roll over for Shels?
Duff may have managed to make Shels the most disliked team (I donât think they are) but he has brought thousands of eyes and ears into the league and raised the profile hugely as a result. I think theyâre starting to fire again, with Boydy on form, after a massive wobble and would be happy if they won in Derry. Rovers and their backroom think theyâre the soothsayers of Irish football.
A good pal of mine - a big Rovers man - said to me about a month ago that Duff (even if heâs a weirdo) has been brilliant for the league. Heâs one of the best players we had in the last 30+ years and heâs brought loads of attention to the league from people who normally wouldnât give a fuck.
Very well put. Would love to see shels and
Duff do it.
