LOI - The end is nigh
Derry City need to beat Skonto Riga to survive until the end of the season.

I would have thought they were one of the best run clubs.
I was reading that there in the Independant Today…Stephen Kenny brought the entire 1st team squad out for a breakfast (wtf?) and told them if they didn’t beat these crowd that they were not going to get paid for the rest of the season.

I see Derry City are only able to pay their players 25% of their wages this month…won’t be long now they will be out with the bowl, looking for handouts.

In their defence, 25c in the yoyo is lot more than Scumrock paid their creditors there a few years back…10c in the yoyo.

I wonder will John Hume organise another high-profile friendly to bail them out. Gobshites.

Galway United have nowhere to train these days. They used Drom which are Salthill Devon’s facilties but the cost has become prohibitive. They trained out in Headford (well outside the city), as well as behind Arch Motors (where kids wouldn’t be arsed playing cos it’s so shit), during last week. You’d think they could find somewhere but Ian Foster has put out a public appeal to be let use someone’s facilities.

It’s controversial too. I was reading on foot.ie that Galway said they owned Drom when they got promoted ahead of Dundalk when the league was restuctured. I find it hard to believe. surely somebody would’ve picked up on it then. That said, we are talking about a bunch of complete fucking idiots.

The poor cunts who Shamrock burned the time a foolish examiner got them off the hook of a 400k bill only wished they got back ten cent to the euro,it was 2 fucking cent,a disgrace.

Surely those FAI idiots didnt really believe Galway UTD when they claimed to own any piece of land or property in Galway?,it was convienient to believe them at the time i suppose, nobody owns anything in Irish soccerball.

Think it was 4 cent in the euro that Rovers paid.

NCC should be able to confirm. How does the song go? “0.64 leagues and 0.96 cups,” is it?

Perhaps NCC might be able to tell us about the day Rovers were turned away from the dry cleaners with their kit over unpaid bills…what did the lad with the kit do? Who did he ring? Did he bring the kit home for the wife to clean? Did Rovers have clean kit for the next match?

Dunno what happened the kit but I know the laundrette went out os business resulting in a loss of jobs.

Why dont you tell us whos Mammy cleans them after the agrisport bogballers have wiped their arses on the kit.

Pity you missed The Dublin Gay Porn, you two would get on like a house on fire.

Interesting to hear panels comments about All Ireland League on MNS there. They all seemed pretty much against it which I found surprising. Arguments about making own league better first and protecting smaller clubs are valid but can’t help but feel if Irish clubs are going to do well in Europe it is going to be done by a big Irish club like Shamrock Rovers, Bohs, Cork, Linfield etc and this is more important than protecting smaller clubs. Also find appeal of All Ireland League somewhat more appealing myself and might encourage a barstool fan like myself to go to more games. Thoughts please.

Mixed feelings - I am not supportive of the idea of a shadowy promotional group such as Platinum One organising an all-Ireland league while both associations just do the lazy thing and coerce all the clubs into going along with it.

It’s something to aim for in the long term, but definitely not the short to medium term. There is no real desire for it within either association at the moment, not even enough to begin proper meaningful negotiations.
