Luis Suarez Appreciation Thread

Not any more. Supreme performance.

Is he Liverpool’s greatest ever striker?

Gan dabht

Yes.

Its some scoring rate 28 league goals in Liverpool’s 31 league games (and he was suspended for first 5). Has he missed any other League games since his return from suspension? He’s on target for 35 league goals. That hasn’t been done in a league season since Ron Davies scored 35 for Southampton in 1966/67 and bar a few seasons in the late 80’s, early 90’s it was a 42 game season up until 1994/95 too.

With no penalties makes it more impressive.

I think Liverpool have to win a major trophy (league or CL) for Luis to take his place beside King Kenny and Rush. He is in world’s three best players on current form but I think history demands a trophy to avoid becoming a footnote and statistic in a club like Liverpool’s history. The football being played under Rodgers now is amazing and this team is breaking records set by Liverpool teams who won titles so perhaps unfair to demand a trophy but that is my sense of it.

It’s still Rushy for me

For the moment…

Depends how long he stays…

If he leads this team to league glory mind…

The young lad came in this morning to tell me all his friends in school say Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player in the world but he says that maybe up until now but now it is Luis Suarez.

Sounds like your young lad has already developed a greater understanding of the game than any of his peers.

He’ll be a revelation alongside Aguero next season

I can’t see Liverpool moving for Aguero, he’s been plagued by injuries. He’d do well to get in ahead of Sturridge anyway

Other areas are more pressing anyway as the team are more than capable of playing with one striker and flourishing… And as you say, why spunk 30m on a player who is constantly injured.

+1

Aguero is an overrated little turd whose game revolves around crashing his big fat arse into defenders anyway, Suarez is the real deal.

I hope Big Sam doesn’t out tactic us today…

I’d be worried about Big Andy Carroll - he was almost unplayable from a defender’s perspective on Monday night.

Both the young lad and his friends are wrong

You mean from a sunderland defenders perspective
