It is certainly more unusual. Unusual shouldnât mean a harsher punishment. The consequences and motivation of an action should determine the punishment.
My view is Luis is fortunate this is under FIFAâs jurisdiction and not the FA. The FA are swayed by the court of public opinion/tabloid outrage. FIFA is the custodian of the beautiful game.
Why does there have to be a scale? Donât spit on people, donât bite people, donât intentionally try to break legs or smash skulls. All bad. All deserve bans.
The reason it is easier to ban someone for biting or spitting is because it is easy to prove. You bit someone. A leg breaking challenge or a clash of heads or an elbow can happen, sometimes by accident, it can be hard to prove intent. If you bit someone, then the intent is there. It has no place in the game, any game. 6 month ban. Fuck him

there has to be a scale when a broken nose or skull gets 7 games/4 games and people are calling for a 24 game ban for a nibble
If you headbutt somebody or swing an elbow it is easy to prove intent
if you go in off two legs at knee height you intend or are reckless as to damage

It was not a nibble. It was like a fat limerick lass trying to dive at a bag of chips she hadnât paid for at the end of a night.
I think the calls for a big ban are based on the fact that itâs the third time the gimp has done this rather than the world hating Liverpool or Luis the rat-faced racist.

By the world I presume you mean you and a few more obsessed, hateful United fans
