Fucks sake

Two statues to be erected to the great man in Dublin in 2018.

About fucking time.

There’s one mooted for Limerick as well to go half way between Terry Wogan and Dickie Harris, the artist has already produced his prototype

He was a genius.

He was just a singer mate, an extraordinary one but hardly a genius unless we’re getting very loose with the term

He was actually a genius.

The raw emotion Kelly could bring to a song or ballad was something else you could listen to him for hours, pure talent.

The man was gifted.

And like all the greats of world music he went way before his time.

Kelly was one of those lads who, when he sang a song, took it to another stratosphere.

Genius is not just about intelligence. It’s more about creativity and being an outlier or visionary. Diego Maradonna, George Best, Lionel Messi, that type of thing.
Joe Canning closer to home.

I’m with you all the way, but then again I’m a huge fan of Luke, he was my dads idol, I’ve been listening since I was a baby and still do. For a few days last week I was walking to work with Luke on Spotify all the way. I love him. How he interprets some songs is superb, but genius is a huge stretch for a singer, Shane McGowan is a genius,
