Major Sporting Events that were affected by the weather

I think it was a Leinster semi final in 1997 where Wexford and Offaly stayed under the shelter of the old Hogan stand after a huge deluge of rain at half time and delayed the start of the second half as a result.

the 2009 qualifier below in Wexford Park was a beauty. The stands wedged and people trying to crush in out of the rain.

the 2014 semi final against Kilkenny was the worst rain I was ever out in.

There was an almighty deluge before the 1995 Leinster hurling final and Kilkenny ran to take cover during their warm up

I was up in the corporate section of the new Cusack Stand shortly after that match and there was minor flooding on the corridor

Division 4 of the 2018 National Football League.

First year under the new GAA Calendar that it was switched to a winter competition in January/early February. After a few postponements for rain, the final round of fixtures was abandoned and the top two of Laois and Carlow were promoted.

Thank god yee fuckers won an all Ireland so yee stopped talking about that rain

A 14 year old @Copper_pipe was in the terrace that day in 2009 and came home with a O’Neills sliothar that went over the net :slightly_smiling_face:

You would need a team of dedicated specialists to be able to prise apart the pages of the programme I brought back from that game.

I don’t recall many pictures you’d knock one out to in a senior inter county hurling programme

You’d be surprised how much of a devient @PhattPike is

Where there’s a will, there’s a way.

I was in the Cusack meself. Clever Offaly hoors stayed in the tunnel til the downpour stopped while our lads were all huddled in whatever dugouts were there.
We got an awful trimming that day.

There was a camogie game on as well that carry in fairness.
