Managerial Merrygoround Thread

Wayne Rooney has been sacked at Birmingham City FC.

United could do worse than give him the main gig until end of season.

He’s served his apprenticeship well.

6th when he took over

That’s very funny. Sacked the first manager that was going well in yonks to bring him in.

Didn’t he do ok at derby?

He has probably looked at the Brazil team and thought ‘no’. Carlo is very astute, it’ll be there for him again.

Rooney Keano co management team. It just makes sense

He did very well at Derby, but he had Liam Rosenior as his coach, and who is now doing a fine job at Hull City (lost last evening but one point off the playoffs)

Chimbonda continues to be tremendous fun

“In other news…”

José sacked at Roma.

Troy Deeney got 29 days at Forest Green. Lost the dressing room

He gave a great post game interview last weekend. The second captains had it on Mon/Tues. Worth looking for.

That was magnificent. Hard believe it didn’t work

It’s mental how badly run football clubs are.

Like how the fuck would you end up with Troy Deeney as manager.

Great line in his wiki

“Deeney took part on Celebrity Mastermind in 2023. He answered no questions correctly on his specialist subject, the Spider-Man films of Sam Raimi”

Wasn’t Big Dunc there for a short time as well?

Although he had a reasonable record as Everton caretaker manager. Too much of a headbanger for a full time role though I suspect.

He was. The owner is an interesting character. Dale Vince is his name. The club is vegan and he’s big on the environment. I think Hector Bellerin is also a shareholder.

The owner has plans to build a new stadium completely made of wood for them.

The Duncan Ferguson video when he became manager is great. The shock when he heard chips were vegan!

Think they had the first female head coach in English league football in situ for a bit as caretaker. Could be corrected on this.

Had a quick scan of his wiki.

Very interesting!

Sounds like Roy Hodgson is in a bad way.
