Managerial Merrygoround Thread

Harry is a smashing bloke and Spurs better have an able replacement lined up.

Avram Grant being linked with the Spurs job.

Well played

Spiritual home for him you’d think.

Ha ja ha

RB Salzburg have appointed Roger Schmidt (from Paderborn) as their new manager, but more intriguingly have appointed Ralf Ragnick as Sporting Director and Gerard Houllier as Global Sporting Director. Seems like an odd structure to have those two in the background.

Rafa Benitez being linked with taking over at Sampdoria

AVB Spurs done deal?

Sampdoria’s bid to appoint Rafael Benitez as manager has failed after negotiations broke down today.
The newly-promoted Serie A club revealed talks had ended “with mutual regret” after meeting with the former Liverpool and Inter Milan boss in London this week.
“Following discussions held recently in London and subsequent contacts between UC Sampdoria and Mr Rafael Benitez, with mutual regret, the club and the Spanish manager agreed that the time for collaboration was not right,” a statement on the club’s website read.
Owner Riccardo Garrone revealed earlier this week that he had been chasing Benitez, out of work since leaving Inter in December 2010, despite coach Giuseppe Iachini still having a year to run on his deal.
Iachini took over the Genoa outfit last November and led the team to promotion to Serie A via the play-offs last month.

Laurent Blanc has officially resigned as manager of France, presumably to take up the Tottenham job.

Marcelo Bielsa is reported to have left Athletic Bilbao after the club didn’t support him after he had a row with construction workers at the club’s new training facility.

Laurent Blanc and Harry Redknapp are reported to be the early favourites to replace him.

Redknapp?? That’s hilarious! What are the tax rates like in Spain?

Harry would be more interested in how they are policed I would imagine.

Louis van Gaal is also back for his second spell as manager of Holland.

He’s truly irrepressible is Louis

Gianfranco Zola has been named Watford manager after they were taken over by the Pozzo family, who also own Udinese and Granada.

Van Gaal is an excellent coach and a top, top man.

Looks as though Didier Deschamp will be the new French coach

Roberto Mancini signs new 5 year deal at Manchester City

Just read the story about Bielsa - what a precious prick - hope he never gets a major job again. Great to see Van Gaal back in work.
