The fact that @Bandage is in the RA needs to be highlighted at this juncture.
There are a lot of rich people in the RA.
Are you rich?
I am but Im not Irish
I would be in favour of a wealth tax provided it included pensions and particularly public sector pension pots (derived value)
SF are against a property tax but in favour of a wealth tax which seems bizarre given that most wealth in this country is in land/property.
Other issue is rent supplement means the âworkingâ poor compete for accommodation with people who are not working who get it for free.

Sensible points.
this country is fucked because of rugby. let me explain. a huge number of jobs in the legal, financial and upper civil service were filled by cunts who went to prominent rugby playing schools, through the old boys club. most of the students to these supposedly prestigious schools get there due to strokes pulled, relations who were past pupils, or financial incentives offered by their parents. therefore these knuckleheads were never capable enough to sit higher level leaving certs, but are pressured into it by parents who have already forked out extortionate money just to get them in the door, and donât want it to go to waste. then add rugby to the mix. huge amounts of research now out about the prevalence of multiple concussions. this phenomenon was always there, its just being recognised now. thus the business and regulatory leaders of this country were simpletons who never earned a place on merit in a secondary school, and whoâs below average intelligence was further hampered by concussions on the playing field, damaging already sub standard brains. these people were then parachuted into jobs in the department of finance and brokerages, resulting in us suffering far worse than other northern european countries in the global meltdown.
The simpletons leading the intelligent (yet demurely submissive) off the cliff. Why not?
Interesting theory. But bullshit. Name a top civil servant who went to a private school.
care to list out the top twenty civil servants in the department of finance for me so i can check?
This will be hugely unpopular on this forum-prepare for a tough few days, pal.
the evil caused by rugby has to be outed pal. the fact that many forumites spend their days licking the arseholes of individuals who ive categorically proven to be borderline retarded is going to ruffle some feathers. theyâll abuse me and bury their heads back in the sand in a few days.
Well the top man went to Sexton St CBS. So you tell me which of the next 19 went to private schools.
how the fuck should i know, i was merely making a general and fascinating comment about the links of undiagnosed brain injury suffered on the rugby field. are you denying that people who went to rugby playing schools in dublin were taken care of in the civil service and other professions? why are you trying to muddy the waters looking for information i have no access to?
[QUOTE=âFagan ODowd, post: 960370, member: 706â]Here is the list.

theyâre the figureheads, the real power lies in the civil servants that have been there for years through different governments. you wonât find them on any website.
Because the current state of the country is as down to the free school sector as it is to the rugby playing set. I would imagine that the last Taoiseach to go to a private school was John Bruton.
Who are these people and why do you think they went to private schools?
Taoisighs are puppets.
like i said, these career civil servants dont publicise themselves. relations who work in the sector is where im getting this. the concussion link i made myself. do you deny pupils of rugby playing schools have got such jobs?
