They also had a cosy enough relationship with the CEO . Basically Moran was brought in as Mayor - effectively the CEO- but the CEO is still in place. Tge councilors waslnt all the power to remain with them through the CEO (P Daly) but Moran believes he has the CEO powers.
Its a piece of legislation that was made a hames of. Not helped by the egos in the council and the mayors office

What business/offices are on the corner of Thomas Street and Catherine Street?
There seems to be about ten people with lanyards always standing around smoking or vaping, something you rarely see anymore
The river was empty the last couple of weeks, today it has filled with the brownest water I’ve ever seen

Limerick epitomizes big fish small pond syndrome.
Local councillors and city hall have always been a little cartel whose sole aim is to look after their own interests solely. I have no doubt 80% of the issues are coming from this side… your man seems a bit of a drone but from the outside it does look like he’s trying to do a lot of good but of all the places in Ireland, Limerick is not one where you put your head above the parapet lightly.

I think its a support hub, which no doubt has some useful tax advantages.
Seems to have a share of alternative style people working there.
An awful place to work apparently.
I’d be interested in seeing the Venn diagram for smokers/vapers and Customer Support workers. In our own place they seem to all be at it, even despite the company’s IT Crowd approach to the smoking hut.
