There wont, the bleeding hearts brigade wont allow it.

Was the murder of the rugby player the thing that prompted the last letting off the leash of the Limerick gardai?

Think it was before it even, they did well on the feud in the early 2000s. Ryans and Keanes wasn’t it.

Let them off the leash. Increase overtime. Send them to work.

Anne, she was at that removal yesterday. She’s knows Gemma and John well too. It’s a small world.

Anne, my aunt by marriage, smashing woman. Spotted her there today but didnt get a chance to talk to her. She was always great to me as a kid.

He’s gas, loves farming and talking farming. Last time I was talking to him, he was telling me he was doing a bit of tour guiding somewhere, possibly with donkeys. I can’t remember exactly as I’d had a few but it sounded good. He’s had a lot of tragedy in his life god bless him.

Limerick mayor complains about working long hours

CORMAC McQUINN Political Correspondent

Limerick’s mayor John Moran has complained that a lack of resources has forced him to work under extreme pressure and for long hours “far exceeding reasonable expectations”.In correspondence with Minister for Housing and Local Government James Browne, he said the level of resources for his office means there is “not sufficient support” for him to be able to carry out the “functions and electoral mandate” that come with the role.

Moran, who earns an annual salary of €168,954, wrote that, despite some improvement since 2024, the situation “has placed unreasonable demands on the staff in the office and on the mayor, who is repeatedly forced to work under extreme pressure and for hours far exceeding reasonable expectations”.

Moran’s letter on July 21st blamed the resourcing of his office for its failure to participate in a consultation process for a report by the Local Democracy Taskforce on reforms to local government.

In recent days, the department defended its support for Moran’s office, saying it has “has always engaged and worked collaboratively” with Limerick City and County Council to support the new office.

Deadline

It outlined various supports in place including a fund of up to €40 million for mayoral initiatives over Moran’s five-year term and €600,000 for the combined salary costs of the mayor and the five staff in his office this year.

Moran, a former Department of Finance secretary general turned Independent politician, is Ireland’s only directly elected mayor .

Correspondence released by the council under the Freedom of Information Act shows that Moran wrote to Browne on July 9th seeking consultation on the taskforce report and implementation plan before it was brought to Cabinet.

Browne wrote back on July 21st – the day before the report was due to go to Cabinet – saying the formal consultation process for the report was conducted during the summer of 2025.

He detailed instances when Moran’s office was contacted about taking part, including after the formal deadline for the consultation had passed, and how no submission was received. Browne said Moran’s office got “a full and reasonable opportunity” to participate.

You’d have your doubts about this lad.

Every journalist in the country will be submitting FOI requests as he seems to put everything in writing,
