You just kicked a man who was down…Shame on you …

Long evenings, Kids back in school, kids outdoor activities back…

These will all help greatly.

@Mac making it all about himself as usual

Looks like you used your other login @balbec

sshhh!

Do you read much fiction @mac or listen to it. A good walk with an audiobook in the evening is a nice tonic if you have the time.

Things are most definitely looking up. Ignore the doom.

There is always light,
If only we’re brave enough to see it
Brave enough to be it.

@Mac… I recommended ‘The Undefeated Mind’ by Alex Lickerman to another forumite recently, it’s well worth reading/listening to no matter who you are or what your frame of mind.

There’s another few months of this ahead. I can only say what I told Tank earlier… the government or restrictions are not in charge of your mental health, you are. Try and find meaning in a new project or venture .

I’d struggle to listen to audiobooks when out for a walk. Light hearted podcasts is usually what I go for like Hector & Tommy for example. My brain is usually fried from work so something that allows me to switch off or let my mind drift is what I go for.

He was excellent in The Mandalorian

Would you be interested in a podcast of classic tfk transcripts? Sid v Labane in the US politics thread from its peak? @Fulvio_From_Aughnacloy versus all comers in a debate about the merits/equality of the Ulster football championship in comparison to the rest, with genuine accents for the protagonists?

Is Michael Flatley looking for the work?

I don’t go in for a lot of this goal setting in mental health. I think essentially it is based on some measure of ‘success’ which to me is the wrong way of looking at it. It’s about acceptance of what is.

Worse than when your beer collapsed?

Fuck it mate shit times but they’ll pass. Some July soon, maybe this year, maybe next, you’ll be horsing pints and telling stories, into croker for a Leinster final with the sun beaming then a pub crawl after, all the way to coppers where we’ll have a shouldering contest for the ages at the top bar

The days are very long at the moment in fairness (apologies for poking fun at you @Mac).

I’m incredibly restless myself today. Minutes are feeling like hours. Wondering if I get a takeaway now, it’ll probably be too early and I’ll end up getting another one later

That’s fair enough… But lockdown is a different type of mental battle and engaging in something worth while can give people a goal or focus to distract from the mundane.

That’s fair enough.
